I'm up for Dave Jones worth a try, used to love the football.

Where did it look decent???

Fabio back, Harris, Jones and revell all what I'd pick

Agree with those four but the midfield is abysmal

Not sure about Justin Edinburgh , he's done well at Newport but if he come here that would be 2 divisions step up , and would be another huge gamble (I would rather mind gamble on a younger manager than a dinosaur like Slade). I think you right but to get a Championship manager will cost a lot of money and that is why we have Slade, If Tan seriously wanted us to do well we would have had Pullis when he was available.

City cannot make a pass, keep possession or defend with any confidence.

So who will Slade blame today?yes Tan is selling/selling,but Slade is a puppet and took the job and is totally clueless.

Cardiff City 1 Reading 2 FACUP 4th Rd

Crowd 11,750 including 1,826 away fans.

Cardiff City: Moore, Fabio, Malone, Turner, Morrison, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Harris, Noone, Jones, Revell.

Cardiff City subs: Wilson, Connolly, John, Adeyemi, Ralls, O’Sullivan, Macheda.

For me this was a game where City fans could put the League season to one side for a day and relax and enjoy the FA CUP,which over the years has brought so many great memories.

Cardiff were looking to put their league woes behind them when they hosted fellow Championship side Reading in the FA Cup fourth round.

City ran out to what felt like a near empty stadium, both sides not really creating much for the first 20 odd minutes.

But then In the 26th minute Kenweyn Jones headed City one nil up from a Whittingham corner :thumbright: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Ex City player Chris Gunter went off injured in the 35th minute to an applause from both sets of fans :ayatollah:

City now having to sustain attacks from the Reading team, but to be fair to City holding well :ayatollah:

1-0 City half-time and deserved :thumbright:

Reading came out attacking and Moore had to make a finger tip save over the cross bar :ayatollah:

Reading firmly in charge after making half time changes.

64th min Reading level, Norwood with a well -taken set piece and Reading deserved their equaliser.

At this moment in time City cannot make a pass, keep possession or defend with any confidence.

69th min Adeyemi on for Revell, 3 in midfield

Reading just kept coming forward and lets be honest they are not even a good team

What a stop from Simon Moore to deny Robson-Kanu's header in the 88th minute.

Then Welshman Robson Kanu made it 2-1 to Reading

Once again City can only play for 45 minutes of a game

My Man of the Match Kenwyne Jones :thumbright:

Reading fans signing 'We're going to Wembley'

SLADE MUST GO ASAP

Next Up back to the Championship, Derby County Home next Saturday :thumbright: :bluescarf:

Me and my mates have been going down the City it seems like for ever.Even in the long years when City were poor,i could never guarantee we would lose. Our sides always seemed to be playing for the shirt. They always seemed to be at least trying. Now'however when i walk into that stadium i know we are going to lose.Slade must go'or we may well be relegated this term.

We are so predictable. We pretty much know the team and set up, doesn't make much homework for the opposition. We will lose against derby next week and that must be the nail in slades coffin. The current situation is totally unacceptable. The manner of our defeats, the body language and morale of the players all has to lie with slade. It's his team , training and tactics

We can avoid relegation but only if we act now to steady the ship and get a mid table Finish. We are currently on track for our worst ever season in the championship.

Get rid of him, doesn't matter how many transfer windows he has, he will still use the same tactics and set up regardless of personnel.. He was given an opportunity and has failed dramatically.

The question is has Tan appointed Slade to clear the decks and get us relegated. There can't be any positives for Tan in getting us relegated so he is going to have to bite that bullet and sack his choice of manager at some point

Annis that really p****s me off when you say that! Slade is a manager in his own right no ones puppet! not going to argue toss as you are blinded by all things tan! But I aggree slade needs to go he clearly is not up to the task tan as asked him to do with getting rid of expensive players and cost cutting, hopefully tan will remove him asap when he comes over if he does? To be fair Slade wasn't given a chance from the minute he came in, he was left a s**t situation after Ole left and most mad up there minds before his first game in charge. He's got rid of a lot of players and brought in from what I've seen players who want to play for the club not just there to pick up there wages give him until the end of the season at least in my opinion

I agree with your first bit, but IMO Slade was the totally wrong person to bring in, in the first place.

As for bringing in his "own" players, its quite clear of the caliber & ability of them, & I base that on only two new signings so far, & the so called names being banded about.

Last January, OGS. Look who he brought in then, & added to in the summer. This January, RS. Look who he's bringing in, & then ask yourself, "can I wait for RS's summer transfer window".

We could well & truly be in division 1 by then!

I honestly think Tan doesn't care. Slade is obviously under orders to cut costs/wages, regardless of how good the player is. Tan is just recouping as much as he can, because he feels disrespected by the fans, and I think he's out to teach fans a lesson. For all of those that were duped into thinking the meeting with Dalman made up his mind to go back to blue, you need a reality check. They played it beautifully. Don't you think a man with Tans business acumen realised that the small crowds, dwinding merchandise sales, prospect of minimum renewals of season ticket sales, and potential loss of sponsorship from companies that didn't want to be associated with the 'Cardiff circus', would affect Cardiff and him financially. Its only my opinion, but i believe the decision to go back to blue was made before the meeting, and by doing it the way they did, people got back on board. More season tickets will be sold now for next year, then he will jump ship and say, "there you are, your back in blue as you wanted, in deep financial crap, and bye bye.
As I said, its only my opinion, and I hope I am wrong, but I don't think he will sack Slade, even though EVERYBODY knows he's not got a clue as a championship manager.

Good post, & I totally agree. Tan wants out, but not before it's financially viable to do so. As for Slade, I Fear he is going to be around for as long as VT is.

It's only just started, but I can see another five or six players leaving over the next few months, including David Marshal,,,,,.

As a club, we are staring into the Abyss, & like you said, Tan doesn't care, in fact, he probably thinks we deserve it, for being double crossing, & disrespectful of him. We are probably perceived as little more than traitors, & treasonable fans by him.

Russell Slade is like the Dr.Who of football managers. He's simply way ahead of his time ! I mean, how many other teams out there in the footballing world play his revolutionary "pass and stop" game ?

Listen, it's simple really, whilst other teams stupidly get totally knackered with their "pass and move" nonsense, stupidly supporting each other up and down the field for 90 mins, OUR players, especially our midfielders, are always as fresh as daisy's at the end of a match ! This can only be good for our players can't it, as they wont be knackered for the next match !

C'mon, we have just been very, very unlucky to have had only 30% possession every game since Russ has been here !
Just think. when our luck changes, the opposition won't be having their usual 20 odd attempts on our goal every game - compared to our measly 3 or 4 on theirs, it'll be US having the 25 attempts on THEIR goal and when that happens we could even be League 2 champions !

:bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
