If you look back on his "LIVE" interviews not ones quoted in the papers, then you will see first hand what he has said, I really can' be bothered that much to go looking to give you a link, but I have watched them, so if you want to watch and confirm what he has said, do a search

“If things need to be explained to anybody then I will explain them. At the same time I think the players understand we have 31 in the squad and with all the will in the world I am not going to be able to keep everybody happy. It is impossible.
So I have to make decisions with the group I want to take us forward. There is a short term idea of where people stand and I have spoken to some of the players plus their representatives and have been up front and honest with them.

Even then, I'd rather see Ravel in that position - more talented and far more experienced in this league.
It's crazy that he isn't getting on the bench though & three CBs are.

I don't agree with you very often, but I do here.
Ravel in a 4-5-1 behind Kenwynne Jones is probably best if we play that formation. But remember that Ravel goes back to his own club (or jail!) at Christmas, so Daehli is next best.
Daehli isn't defensive enough for the 4-4-2 formation that Slade prefers, and has always looked out of place out wide (especially with Fabio behind him). I hope we can develop the flexibility to play a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 as required, but teams rarely do this for some reason or other.

I don't like these comments from the manager and it looks like a set up before his inevitable sale in January, where it can be said he didn't have the right attitude, blah blah blah.
