I agree with those comments Gavin, but He was being shown the door by Orient the other day.
But your right, he must have some assurances regarding the City job.

Why? Was manager of the league for them last season. Took them to within a penalty shootout of promotion to the Championship and all without ever spending a penny on transfers.

I'd say they'd be gutted

I have no problem with him being a relatively unknown manager, or a lower league manager. What worries me is that apparently this guy has been a lower league manager for years, yet no team in the top two leagues have ever thought he deserved a chance there or was capable of achieving at this level.

Not many teams in the top two divisions will generally give chances to guys from lower down the chain. They appoint big name ex players or the same recycled group or foreigners. That is mostly because fans bitch and moan if it's not a big name

Great post! The more I hear about Slade and the job he's done at Orient, the more I think he's the right man for us.

Get over yourselves and give the man a chance. We thought Ole was ok but he failed. Fans thought Malky was good but he had major flaws ( not all of them text related ). Even (Saint) Brendan Rogers messed up at Reading. Give Slade a chance - potentially this could be a great choice.

That's an interesting point. I'm still really underwhelmed with this rumour though.

Support whoever the new manager is. writing him off before he gets here is pathetic but nothing surprising given what fans we have following us these days..

Hasn't got it as a manager, whereas this guy has been making a living for 20 years

Never heard of him before the other day but he did win two Manager of the Year awards last year and has a win ratio of 43% with LOFC. Maybe he can get us some wins?
