Shame that Carl Dale got injured & took nearly 2 seasons to get back to his best by that time Phil Stant had been sold to Bury

Both hero's in my eyes, Carl Dale ran his socks off for the cause & Phil Stant just bulldozed people out of the way!!

Both had great partnerships with Chris Pike

Phil Stant was my hero. Probably my favourite all time city player. The fans loved him and he gave us everything!

Was a hero with the fans and yet his teammates say they couldn`t stand him. They seem to have regarded him as unfriendly and a bit of a bullshitter about his military record according to conversations at a Trust player reunion. Most of the first team squad were there but Stanty declined the invitation to attend.

Who remembers Phil Stant and Carl Dale? what a partnership, played off each other,knew each others game

The best strike partnership I've ever seen for City, they scored 28 goals each in our title winning season. Carl Dale is still my favourite ever City player. Dale also had great partnerships with Chris Pike and Steve White.

Thinking about it we've been spoilt with strike partnerships over the years. Bothroyd and Chopra and Earnie and Thorne were also fantastic partnerships. Remember Chopra and Steve Thompson tearing Championship defences apart too taking us to the top of the league before our lack of strength in depth costing us at the time.

Am I missing something? Dale was injured most of the time Stant was here and they didn't play much together unfortunately. When they did they looked good together. They certainly didn't score 28 goals each in our title winning season.
