Personally, i think anything from a 12 game ban (including club football) would be a good start.

Agree with Paul. I'd go even stronger and suggest a six month ban. Make him realise that he cannot keep doing it.

if it were up to me id agree, a worldwide ban on footaball till Jan 1st, something like that, and perhaps an even longer ban internationally.

Not sure if they can do it that way, but at least if its a minimum of 12/14 games then you can say they are being fair (ish). If its anything like 4 games then thats a f*cking joke. If Uruguay get to the final/3rd/4th playoff then he gets away scot free!

Think there's more to it than just banning him and hoping the punishment works, read the link in the other thread I posted..

I understand from Talksport that if FIFA ban him for over 2 months then he can appeal it and while the appeal is ongoing he can still play. He simply cannot play again at this World Cup, that would be criminal if he did. I hope they give him an initial two month ban so he can't appeal it then say they will review it again after the two months. Ban him from football until next year, that would be way forward.

I think Talksport are right with this as FIFA Disciplinary Code Section 118 (c) would give Suarez the right of appeal if any ban was longer than 2 months or bigger than 3 matches. However although there are time limits on the submission of any appeal, I think it is normally 3 days, this time period can be adjusted however FIFA deems fit so that 3 days could be set at 3 hours.

Any meeting of a FIFA Appeals Committee could also be set up in hours and if deemed suitable any decision on any appeal could be heard by only 1 person.

I think FIFA are going to get him for this and I believe it has only taken this long because Suarez or maybe Uruguay have asked to make an oral statement, which is thier right, before any decision is made.

Whatever happens I agree with you that Suarez simply cannot be allowed to take any further part in this World Cup.

Video inconclusive. We all know what he is doing butvidvideo does not show him biting. That is what his lawyer is arguing. I have a feeling Suarez plays against Colombia on Saturday.

Since 2010, Suarez has been suspended for 34 matches yet has recieved not one red card! Serious issues that guy has got

The 9 matches relates to internationals only I believe so he will be banned from representing Uruguay until at least next summer you would think. He may miss the start of the Copa America next year or will Uruguay just play loads of warm up friendlies to get through enough games?

Uruguay and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been banned for nine official international matches and "from any football related activity" for four months after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

This is, astonishingly, the third time that the Uruguayan has been banned for biting another player, following his seven game ban while playing for Ajax and his ten game ban just over a year ago for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

The news came at a FIFA media briefing this afternoon, as Fifa media relations manager Delia Fischer read a statement: "The player Luis Suarez is suspended for nine matches and banned for four months from any football related activity.

"The Fifa disciplinary committee has decided the player is regarded as having breached article 48 paragraph one and article 57. The player is to be suspended for nine matches, the first is the upcoming match between Uruguay and Colombia on Saturday."

Suarez had claimed innocence, saying: ''These situations arise on the pitch, I've collided with his shoulder. It drove me a little crazy too, but these things happen on the pitch. There's no need to make a story out of it.''

His Uruguay captain Diego Lugano denied that Suarez even did anything wrong, claiming television replays "don't show anything" and are "nothing important".

Liverpool need to have a word with Suarez then about his discipline, it's his fault and he needed to be punished and not playing is his punishment. Only down to Suarez it was always going to be a ban from all football after his record.

They must have because the after the season he done it with v Liverpool he tore the Prem a new one.

Ban him from all Football? Let's remember we have had a drink driver, a youngster who hit a woman at this club. If you listen to what Gordon Strachan said about it, make it a bit more clearer.

Sorry? Luis Suarez's hollow apology first step in move to quit Liverpool

LUIS SUAREZ has claimed he will never bite an opponent again as he belatedly apologised to Giorgio Chiellini for the clash which has left him an outcast.

The disgraced Uruguay striker released a statement on Twitter in which he effectively admitted lying to FIFA over the infamous World Cup flashpoint with the Italy defender.

Yesterday's public declaration was anticipated and is designed to help smooth his potential move from Liverpool to Barcelona by indicating a willingness on the part of the player to change, although few observers will take him at his word.

Suarez has been suspended from "all football-related activity" until late October after sinking his teeth into the shoulder of Chiellini last week, the third time he has bitten a rival on the field of play.

The forward initially claimed in a written submission to FIFA last week he had lost his balance and fallen into Chiellini with his teeth.

But after spending time with his family in Montevideo and speaking with his agent, Pere Guardiola, Suarez decided to come clean over the "reality" of what actually happened.
