3 la liga teams make European semi finals. 0 from England. 33 points was enough to stay in the premier league this year. Swansea finished on 42 which would usually be just enough to stay up. The season before last Valencia finished 5th in la liga. Hardly comparable to Leeds.
Keep telling yourself you're better than Valencia though based on "team value" and beating them once.
so you were talking about "better". Why argue?
Why are you taking the valencia squad of 3 seasons ago and crediting them with that same side now? The fact is WE ARE better than Valencia. We beat them 3-1 over 2 games and have a better squad on paper and on pitch![]()
Funny you want to look at least seasons champions league results to judge a whole league (which is stupid in itself) yet get all uppity when looking at Valencia last season, a far more case specific focus than Real Madrid, Barca and Athletico (ironically none of which want Medel)![]()
Its like saying 2 Ivory Coast players were in the top 10 goalscoring charts in the Premier league yet none from Argentina so Ivory Coast must be better as a nation.
Valencia made 9 changes from the team that played the previous La Liga game.
played for over 80 minutes with a man short
finished 5 points above you at the top of the group
reached the quarter finals of the competition..........
But some website values their squad more than valencias so they must be better if that website said so

Yes we have established that. You are still wrong however.
Bigger yes, but so are leeds its irrelevant.
Better? Not a chance. We have a more valuable squad based on ability and beat them 3-1 over two games. They finished higher in a group consisting of 6 matches

Valuation isn't factual as it is based on what it's worth to you. These valuation comparisons are based on someone's opinion. If I did a valuation there would be completely different results. Surely even you understand this.

Finished in a group showing more consistency and ability than Swansea. Suggesting that their players are better than Swansea players. Scoring twice as many goals and a better goal difference and progressed further.
Their results suggest your arguments are a load of rubbish.

Valuations across the board are fairly accurate. What the club would accept however is different. But comparing the most profitable club in the premier league (swansea) to financially ruined Valencia - that works in their favour.
When looking at the sides it is obvious who possesses the better side. Even more obvious when you look at the two recent matches where Swansea outplayed them both times.

No, no. when real signed bale for 80 mill - that's how much he was valued for by his club and Real Madrid. A player is worth what a club will pay. Just because someone thinks a player is worth x amount doesn't make it gospel.
You finished below them, scoring less goals. They're better.

nice try. Collations over 6 games are meaningless as both Swansea and Valencia played different versions of their first team against the remaining opposition.
They did not play their reserves in either game and if memory serves we actually made more changes than them

Yes, yes. How do you know bale wasn't valued at 80 mill? The same considerations are made across the board. We wouldnt accept anything less than £25m for Bony but he is valued at £15m on that website. Your argument only strengthens mine, we have the players that are undervalued - not them, and we still come out on top![]()

The valuation as stated above based on what 2 clubs or parties agree on. Not some stupid made up figures in your head.

Take a look at a correlation table. You will see that those who score more are generally more successful. Just like those who take more shots generally score more goals.
There will always be the odd one or two who don't fit this category but generally speaking. Goals = victory which is why strikers are more expensive generally than any other position.

So how come Palace scored 21 goals more than us and finished above us?
Of all the opinions you hold, that is by far the most stupid and there are many candidates
Holland will probably now go on to be tournament top scorers after a 5-1 win - yet it doesnt mean they are better than Brazil as a result, scrap points lets just go on goals

So you accept that scoring more doesnt mean you are better then
Id go back to "bigger" if i were you because although irrelevant at least its true

No I argue that in general scoring more goals does make you better but there will be the odd team who don't score most goals who will also be successful. However, generally speaking the most successful teams score the most goals.
In valencias case they scored more, won more and won the group. Finishing above Swansea who scored less.
stop digging. On one hand you are saying how ridiculous it is to compare yourselves to Norwich over 2 games and then want to compare to Valencia over 6
