You prove why the jacks have an obsession with cardiff. You're a man whose life unfortunately seems to revolve around writing on a ccfc message board, this particular topic is about a player who I've personally not heard of, if you're really that excited why don't you go on to social media to discuss the matter with fellow jacks. It's nothing to do with ccfc, you're a well run club who are financially stable and playing great football. So why not celebrate this with some friends talking all things SCFC.You really do give jacks a bad name.

Not very high praise, a lot of Eredivise/Twente fans reckon you've overpaid for him.

He's still young, so who knows, he may end up being all right but don't try to make out this is some sort of coup for Swansea.

I dont have to make out its some sort of coup, it obviously is. He has the exact same style as Henry indeed, seen him before?

When players leave there always tends to be an element of "didnt want him anyway".

Look at the threads regarding Mutch and Campbell which ironically were 2 of your stand out players :laughing6:

Top signing indeed.

Roathie, if ever there was a post to prove how biased and delusional you are, this is it.

Im anything but biased, that much is obvious through the years :thumbright:

Okay, I'll tell you what I disagree with. I disagree with you claiming he's a top signing. Based on the opinions in the topic I posted from people who have watched Luc reguarly, almost all of them seem to agree that it is anything but a top signing. The Henry comparisons were when he was 18, and although he is still young and will improve, the past 3 years have shown that his attitude and technique are lacking and he isn't going to become the player that he was hyped up to be. It's like if Cardiff signed Anthony Le Tallec and I posted old articles comparing him to Zidane, that obviously isn't relevant anymore.

I am not biased in this case mate, quite the opposite. When idiotic Cardiff fans were slagging off Bony earlier in the season, I was defending him and berating them for being biased. I get what you're saying with the 'didn't want him anyway' attitude, but it's not just Twente fans who are saying they've got the best deal, it's general Dutch and Eredivisie fans. The fact that he was voted the worst signing in the Eredivisie last season and had one of the worst change conversion rates back this up.

The main problem I have with you is that you come on here and claim we're delusional and you feel the need to bring us back to reality; but from looking at your analysis of the Castaignos signing it would appear that you're guilty of exactly the same behaviour.

he IS a top signing for us, no question. I refer you again to the threads on Medel, Campbell, Caulker and Mutch. All loved when they were here - now they apparently arent going to missed :D it is the nature of football fans. His record speaks for itself. 3 years ago is not a long time ago, the lad is 21 and its clear where the comparisons come from.

If you dont agree thats fine. But to label it then as delusion or bias is where you are making your mistake as you are forgetting that can also be attributed to your disagreement. Remember the henry comparisons were and are widespread through fans and media - not me

:D got a link to that? I dont believe that for a second. When we signed Bony not only your fans said he was rubbish but also fans of the Eridevisie said we overpaid and in fact he wouldnt suit the prem - the very same Bony that is one of the best strikers in Europe :D

I'll try one last time to get my point across, because clearly it isn't working.

First of all, please stop taking what certain other fans have said and putting it across that I share their opinion. This is something I've noticed you do A LOT, attributing opinions from the minority of fans like they represent the views of the majority. I trust the opinions on the reddit threads, because the community has an obsession with appearing 'classy' and respectful. Posts bashing players tends to get downvoted very quickly, the top posts reflect the general opinions of the posters. A lot of these people are more qualified in their opinions of Castaignos due to their Dutch/Twente allegiances.

Again, please stop with the comparisons to Henry. If you can find any top journalists/analysts making the comparison in the last 2 years, then I'd be very interested in seeing them. Because it's blindingly obvious that the comparisons are VERY out of date. Since you've posted those stats I'll also address them. As decent as that record is, it is lessened when you take into account his terrible conversion rate and being voted the worst signing last season.

I'm very disappointed because it looks like I held back posting my thoughts on Bony earlier in the season, and instead just posted: 'Anyone who says we'll finish above the jacks this season is either completely delusional or just a WUM.' Not conclusive evidence, but enough that suggest I was not biased in that whole embarrassment.

For one thing, you've not just said your happy with the signing, you've repeatedly said it's a 'top' signing. The delusion stems from this viewpoint, for all the valid reasons I've given, it is easy to see that it certainly isn't a 'top' signing. It's potentially not even a decent signing, there's a much stronger argument that you overpaid.

Now,I've said all I need to say and it's glorious outside so I shall leave you.

You are basically saying you dont think its a good signing because some of their fans (no more than 10) are saying he wont be missed :laughing6: to base your opinion on a handful of other people who will have an axe to grind is lunacy.

ive told you time and time again, maybe ill try one more time....

When players leave clubs the fans turn their back on them. Look at your lot with medel and caulker, legends one minute and rubbish the next. Campbell is the same.

Ive never attributed anybodies posts to yourself. Think you have a bit of paranoia on that front.

As for the henry comparisons - they are widespread, not as forthcoming in the last few years as his career stunted at Inter Milan as he moved too soon. People dont tend to write about players that dont play. Here is "Inters answer to Thierry Henry" from 2011/12 season http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2011/01 ... rry-henry/

Re: Luc Castaignos signs for Swansea for €8.5m

I don't calling him the next Henry is justified, he's a similar type of player but I think it's very unlikely that he'll go on to be of a similar calibre to him.

He's a good signing though, offers us a completely different option to Bony and does have potential.

BobbyBlue wrote:There will never be another Henry, that's for sure. Just had a look at his goal record, it is decent but nothing special, whether he can carry it on in the prem is to be seen. Looks abit lightweight to me could struggle in the prem.

He's not lightweight.

Stan_B wrote:Back up for Bony or replacement for him?

Surprised that you lot are not taking a punt on Finnbogason as Bony looks likely to be going.

Back up. Bony is not likely to leave.

We've currently got one striker, we need at least two in.

BobbyBlue wrote:Personally I can see bony moving on once the release clause is met, as he has stated he wants to play for a big club.

There's no release clause, he's happy to stay and will do unless stupid money comes in for him.

 yet more rubbish. Look at the Medel threads. He was the best defensive midfielder in the world when he was with you, now hes lazy and you have overpaid - thats not a minority opinion.

Being clinical in front of goal is not a "playing style". Besides im pretty sure Henry wasnt banging them in at 20/21 .

If you want to think he is a bad signing based on a couple of fans opinions with an axe to grind then be my guest, but you dont have to be a neuroscientist to see thats stupidity in the extreme

As for the news reports. Ive explained that. People dont gush over players that dont play, he played 6 times at inter milan. Had a good spell at Twente having better records that the likes of Van Nistelrooy and Van Persie at that age - now we have him

Maybe you are trolling, i cant explain it otherwise.
