Leon Britton rating of 6.79.

Gary Medel rating of 6.7

Jose Canas 6.64 :laughing6:

Id rather pay nothing for someone who can achieve a 6.64 rating for the bench rather than oay £11m for someone who can achieve a 6.7 while starting most games :laughing6:

It is quite funny you take ratings seriously.

We have been total shit at times this season and medel has had to basically run the midfield on his own. Britton makes 2 yard passes which is probably why his rating is so high.

goes to show that stats arent always the be all and end all. a lot of the names on the list arent even like-for-like players, Medel is good enough to play in a lot of these sides imo.

I do like Jedinak though, think hes a superb player

If defensive midfielders arent played in the system then I took the most defensive minded central midfielder.

WTF are these shite stats :laughing6: Capoue has only played 12 times. Lucas been injured loads and you can't just pluck the 'most defensive minded central midfielder' out, they could be hardly a def mid at all.

Where are these random ratings from, some simple stats site that just takes into question passes/tackles nothing else in a footballing sense which would mean you'd actually have to attend a game. That'd be impossible though obviously with all your spare time spent on here.

Re: Training Ground Punch Up Down West

Tue Apr 15, 2014 10:05 am

So Jedinak is the second best defensive midfielder in the entire premier league.

You only mentioned February once you got picked up on using Lucas Leiva.

Read back drunky.

I said the stats showed (past tense) him to be 19th out of 20. These were stats i posted 2 months ago and was referring to those exact same stats.

Are you suggesting that Medel has gone up then? :laughing6:

Didnt think so.

telling porkies again Roathie

here is what you said

What I can tell you however is that out of the 20 starting defensive minded players from the 20 clubs - medel ranks 19th

The most significant word there is "ranks", if it was past tense it would have been "ranked".

And yes he has gone up by at least 2 places

Medel 6.7
Bradley Johnson 6.69
Lee Cattermole 6.6
Canas 6.58 (23 PL appearances compared to Brittons 21)

Re: Training Ground Punch Up Down West

Just for paranoid Polo who thinks the world is out to trick him, i will update the bottom 5

16) Ashley Westwood - 6.84 (Aston Villa)
17) Leon Britton - 6.79 (Swansea)
18) Steven N'zonzi - 6.77 (Stoke)
19) Gary Medel - 6.7 (Cardiff)
20) Bradley Johnson - 6.69 (Norwich)

You were lucky, for a while it looked like Medel had slipped to bottom but was saved by Westwood by 0.01 :D

Feel free to see if anyone from 1st to 15th had a worse rating to push him up... But i doubt it.

To be fair alot of shit has been bought for well over 11 million quid.

If you actually watched cardiff games instead of going of shitty meaningless stats and Match of the Day maybe you'd get an idea of how important he is for us.

Ive not watched match of the day once.

Ive watched most of your games this year due to us not playing the same day/time more often than not. Hes very average, the rest of your team are awful though.

Lee Trundle was important to us too, i wouldn't have bought him for £11m though

I didnt say they werent. However we are looking at the starting defensive midfielders you pleb, which is why subs arent involved for any club - hence the fact there are 20 players from 20 teams

the fact Canas has less starts and isnt even on the bench at the moment while Britton starts every game possible suggests Britton is the starting midfielder doesnt it? :laughing6:

My point was never that Canas was good, it was that Medel was average and you paid a ridiculous sum. Re: Training Ground Punch Up Down West

Medel is far from average. Some games he is a class above.

In a season with so total crap performances like losing 4 nil to hull at home, Palace 3 nil, Southampton 3 nil, he has has had decent to great games throughout.

As MM said, on Chiles advertising for the World Cup around the capital city, they have three players plastered everywhere Alexis Sanchez, Vidal anddddddd Medel.

£11 bargain, compared to the fact fellani cost 28 odd million.

You have continually said Canas was better than Medel, as you said Ki was better than any of our midfielders.

so was Mark Gower. The fact he couldnt do it consistently was the reason he wasnt very good.

disagree. Hes been good a few times, terrible a few more times and average all the rest of the time.

As MM said, on Chiles advertising for the World Cup around the capital city, they have three players plastered everywhere Alexis Sanchez, Vidal anddddddd Medel.

they can say what they want, hes been average for you. Which is why you will probably struggle to offload him in the summer - clubs should be queuing up shouldnt they? All the top clubs?

£11 bargain, compared to the fact fellani cost 28 odd million

both shit signings. Thats like saying you lost your house to the repo men which is good considering a bloke in manchester lost two.

just going from January 1st and looking at league games.

Man City - STARTED
Man CIty STARTED (off after 17 mins.... injured?)
Spurs - NOT ON BENCH
Fulham - NOT ON BENCH
West Ham - NOT ON BENCH
Cardiff - SUB
Stoke - STARTED
Liverpool - SUB (on at half time)
Palace - SUB (on after 22 minutes)
West Brom - STARTED
Everton - STARTED

after that he hasnt started any of the last 4 games.

Clear to see that until recently he was a starter, 5 out of 11 there, would surely had been more had he not been injured, with the cardiff game looking like his comeback.

Also should point out he started every game in december, he was the main guy under Laudrop. and only recently has found himself out of the side.
