So you are saying we will stay up - yet im fooling myself by saying we wont go down?

This season was a progression on last season, league form was always going to suffer however we got to the last 32 of european competition and were very unlucky not to go to the last 16 (16 mins away).

Next season has all the hallmarks of another progression with hopefully a fully fit Michu and a squad not having to play twice as much as everyone else. :thumbright:

Yes I've said for weeks I think you'll stay up but not because I think your such a brilliant team just that there are some real shit below you including Cardiff.

so you agree we are too good to go down then ? :?

It's only your early season form under Laudrup not monk that is going to see you stay up and that is why when you say your too good i say your foolish.

 we were bottom of the league early on in the season. Monk has steadied the ship, restored the values of Swansea City but has inherited a jaded team due to our success.

Your form under him is relegation form not the highest points per game ratio shit you spouted for weeks.

i didnt "spout" anything. I stated facts. Earlier on in the season Monk did have the highest points per game ratio. The team is exhausted however as we have played more than most players will play in a season in their careers.

Monk has 9 points from 10 games which is just shy of the 10 points in 10 that Laudrup wqs averaging all season. That would hive a 34 point finish which is not relegation form.

we can only dream of staying up but are mindful that we've been poor all season and are simply not good enough this time. You are on a bad run are not safe yet you still think your barca or something. Wake up and realise it all is not well and as I've said you could be on the slide

who has said we are barca? We are an excellent side but a jaded side and one in transition. Not sure what you are crying about.

Jaded team is a poor excuse. The 25 man squad rule should help. If you are financially stable then your squad should have 2 players for every position. If your manager is incapable of rotating squad to ensure freshness he is clearly not good enough. Chelsea have played a similar number of games to you as have arsenal and spurs. They aren't fading or using excuses about fatigue.

:laughing6: what rubbish.

Being jaded is a poor excuse? Why dont every club play 60 games a year then

We do have 2 players for every position. But the ones that dont start obviously arent as good as the starters, just like every club all over the world.

The manager is totally capable of rotating, however rotating snaps continuity - again a premise seen the world over

It isnt an excuse it is a reason. Want a bet that we wont finish top 12 next season? Name your price

Top 10 club....bollocks! :laughing6:

We are light years ahead of you.

We are the most profitable club in the Premier League, we are part owned by fans, we are debt free, we have just won a major trophy, we have just got to the last 32 of European competition and are odds on to embark on our 4th season in a row in the Premier League after mostly mid table finishes, including a top 10 finish the last time the league was settled after 38 games.

How long will it take you to achieve all that?

Not in any of our lifetimes id be willing to wager.

Light years.

If 4 points is light years then you really are deluded. I don't think you will go down although it will be tight. I'm not overly confident that we will stay up. However for you to think you are light years ahead is incredibly arrogant.

it is nothing to do with points. We are light years ahead of you due to what ive just listed. There will be a whole league between us in a few weeks time added to that list.

We have debts but they are to one man who will hardly pull the plug nor allow us to go into admin. The volume of debt is questionable too. Some say 30 million. Others say 100. Your financial model is based on staying in premier league. If you went down a number of key players on big money (michu, bony, Williams and vorm) would have to go.

what rubbish. You are £100m plus in debt and it doesnt matter of it is to one man or a million men. Its the same amount. When he wants it back you will be left with nothing. Our financial model absolutely does not count on staying in the prem, what tosh.

Support wise we average 27000 which will increase to 30-32000 next season should we do the impossible. You haven't even sold out every game in your small stadium dispelling the myth you have a huge waiting list.

:D you will be lucky to average 18,000 next season. Our chairman has said countless times we have a waiting list. If we havent sold out then it is due to single tickets being left, who goes to the football on their own? Its an issue being discussed at the moment

Manager wise I believe OGS will become a top manager despite a dodgy start. He has got us playing a passing game. In my opinion he has tried to change too much too soon. Monk is out of his depth. He is still dining out on the derby victory. If
Swansea stay up and monk stays you will be in a relegation dog fight next season.

whether it is Monk or another like minded manager, we will be mid table. Ill happily do a wager with you - name your price

When we are firing and have continuity there are few teams that can handle us. Superb side.

It's all about opinions Roathie. I am a betting man but prefer to take money off paddy power rather than individuals so will decline the offer.

As for crowds if we go down 18000-20000 will be average. Why if you have a waiting list were Europa league gates so poor. If I couldnt get tickets to watch ccfc in league I'd go and watch them in cup games.

Last season we played close on 50 games. Season before it was almost 60. This season Swansea have played 34 league games, 3 FA cup ties, 1 league cup match plus 10 Europa cup matches (correct me if I'm wrong) so 52 games max by end of season.

I will have a few quid on you lot to go down next season. I've a great track record. Done a nice double on Torquay and Yeovil to go down this season (11/2 for Torquay).

We have played 56 so far, another 4 to go making 60, that in a league where it is usually a 38 game season plus domestics for the majority.

Also not only normal games but having to travel to Romania, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden

Well then I will beat the odds any bookmaker will give you, just let me know

Some Europa games aren't attractive especially prelim rounds but games v Valencia are far more attractive than Stoke or hull.

As for bet I will give 20 quid to a charity of your choice if Swansea finish in top 10 next season.

Depends who you are. We had already qualified pretty much when it came to the return leg with a 60 games season to pay for. I wasn't particularly excited by a dead rubber against Valencia on a weekday.

Give me top 12 as I said and we have a deal (8th-12th is consider as mid table)

Indeed you can keep it at £20 and I will double it to £40 if I lose. Hows that sound?

Not of 1 of your players is remotely close to playing 60 games this year. In fact the maximum amount for any of your players to reach this season is 45 and thats Bony. So i'm not having this jaded squad bullshit

Thats the point. The fact we have played 56 games and a lot of them we havent been able to play our starting 11 says it all regarding the situation Monk has inherited with the immense fixture pile up.

It isnt just the games but the European adventure is taxing at any rate. Playing in Wales/England on weekends and then travelling to play in Russia, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania etc etc on a weekday.

If you think that doesnt have an effect then thats absolutely insane. By all means put your cash where your mouth is, thread already set up

Jaded squad

Go back to the beginning of the season and Europe wouldnt affect them, they had the squad to cope, they had back up for each position and could field two top class XI's.

As it is though your squad has been rotated, and if said squad hasn't got the quality to sustain results, then that squad isn't good enough. So surely you need to improve on players, wether you think you can draw in the calibre of player required without European football and a footballing legend remains to be seen

Makes no difference, the fact it has been rotated means due to the amount of games we have not been able to play our strongest team often - which in turn will naturally affect results.

I cant think of a team in world football with 25 players all as good as each other - can you?

"My lot"?

I dont have a "my lot".

Are you talking about me or someone else? If someone else then please take this conversation else where, it has nothing to do with me. Cheers

I am talking about you and several other Jacks. You were having none of it when pointed out Europe usually hinders small clubs.

Now you want to use it as an excuse for your dissapointing league form this year.

Remarkable.

As I said earlier.YADA! YADA! YADA! Major trophy, superb team, best ever points per ratio of games, still only four points seperate the two of us!! Tho according to a lot of fans(scumsea)europe would not affect league form as you were soooooo good! I think you will stay up,only because there are some shit teams below your lofty current posistion!! Who else classes the league cup as major? Certainly not anywhere else but swansea! Ask around europe have and britain and you will see that, nobody knows who won it! Except you swans! Truth that is!

According to a bloke who happens to be a cardiff fan I spoke to last year said he had been abducted by aliens. Can i hold you accountable for that too?

Like i said, makes no difference how many points it is. The league cup is obviously a major trophy and is classed as that by everyone.

You are light years behind all the things ive listed.

If you disagree then give me a timeframe in the future on you winning a major trophy, having 3 back to back seasons in the prem, most of them mid table finishes, last 32 of europe, debt free, part owned by fans and most profitable team in Prem.

Tell me when you will achieve that and then we can go from there

It isnt an excuse it is a ridiculously obvious reason

I don't remember ever saying that to be honest. Not that it matters. "Your lot" said the Prem was easy didnt you? :laughing6:

I cannot be held accountable for what others say, we have fans who think Jordon Mutch should be going to the World Cup and Malky is good enough to manage Manchester United by the year 2016, I cannot be held accountable for what they say.

It doesnt detract from the fact YOU claimed Europe wouldnt effect you, when its ridiculously obvious it was going to and has.

Hmmmmm let me think, who has a squad talented enough to compete domestically and in europe??nope got us there roath!! Try chelsea, real, barca, bayern to name but a few, then again, they are not competing in the second tier european competition!! Your fans were indeed deluded to believe earlier in the season,it would not affect league form! Do you think monk will be in charge nxt season? Given he has the same points per game, that your most succesful manager had?not a chance of him being in charge for a full season in the prem!!

The most distant spacecraft humans have made is Voyager 1, which is currently about 100 AU from the Sun, after 30 years of travel. At this rate it will take 18,750 years for Voyager 1 to travel one light-year.

Voyager 2 is in production which can travel 100 times faster than Voyager 1 which was built in the 1970's. That would take 187 years to travel a light year.

I cannot see you achieving what we have in the next 187 years.

I dont remember ever saying that.

So you agree this seasons league form has been affected adversely by Europe then

Sweet, thanks for the back up

My fans? Im flattered, I wasnt aware I had any.

I dont even understand your argument. You seem to be agreeing with me that this years league form has been affected by our european excursions yet saying it as if you are disagreeing

No idea if Monk will be in charge next season. He defo will be at some point, whether Huw thinks he is ready right now or later down the line is up to him - and lets be fair, like me, he usually gets it right.

Yes I do agree and told you so at the beginning of the season. You wouldnt have it though. :laughing6:
