Tan is a business man ,BUT! he got this one wrong. He put them up for sale early , hoping Fan would think we were going to stay up.
He only has himself to blame once again, in saying that I already have my 4 season tickets but can only just afford them.
To think me and my family will be watching championship football at pre prices hurts, but what can we do ? nothing!

Re: WORRYING SEASON TICKET CONCERNS FOR NEXT SEASON ?

Another worrying factor was that last Saturday over 2,500 current season ticket holders never turned up to see one of the biggest and most important games of the season,Crystal Palace. Why in my opinion because its all about the name who we are playing, v Liverpool nearly every seat was suddenly full in the Family and Grandstand, against Palace suddenly they have all gone :o

As to Premier Seats they were virtually be empty next season if we go down.

I don't care how much fellow season ticket holders are there next season, kind of prefer less season ticket holders as less will heckle and will actually want to be there rather than boo the players.

Annis 43rd consecutive year so he keeps telling us yet has had the knives out for Ole from day one because hes Tan man.

Annis you said you were only going to give him 12 games yet said you said you would give Malky 3 windows.

Why the huge difference in timescale?

For any1 to judge a manager after 12 games is madness.

another plus for championship football (although I hope somehow we stay up) was mentioned to me by my boy as we were leaving the gound after the Palace shambles....he asked when were we going to go in the premier lounge again and have a meal/drinks and sit in the posh seats. I said you can forget that if we stay up......but if we do go down there will be countless opportunities to upgrade for the lesser matches (and possibly into the new corporate facilities in the new stand as well). Probaly better in the new stand as I beleive any catering revenue generated in there goes to the club and not compass....cue mass offers !!)

every cloud..........

Hi all,

I'm doing a dissertation on Cardiff City and everyone's responses relating to renewing their season ticket is very interesting...

I hope you don't mind me asking, but if you active users could fill out my questionnaire it would be really appreciated!

carlccfc wrote:Over the past few weeks a few comments have been made to me and I have read some posts on here regarding the season ticket renewals.

So I want to post a few of them as questions to get a feeling as to what other people feel about the season ticket renewals.

1. Were the club correct to put season tickets on sale in February for next season?
No. Cash flow is a not an issue. Should have been put on sale after easter.

2. Is the 15% price rise of season tickets too steep?
Yes.

3. Should the price be dependant on which division we are playing in next season?
Yes.

4. Are you surprised to hear or read that up to 10,000 current season ticket holders have yet to renew?
No.

5. Have you renewed and if not, why not?
Yes, renewed.

6. Do you have an idea on how the club can get the missing thousands to renew?
Appoint a manager who has half a clue how to manage a football league club, and sign players who will be able to do the basics like defend, track, press, tackle, pass, shoot, head, score etc..........little things like that.

7. With parachute payments, should we go down, the club will surely have resources to spend on transfers in the summer to try and bounce back up so shouldn't we as fans stick with Cardiff City through the good and bad and these are not bad times?
Badly phrased question - more a statement than a question. If what you are saying is should fans support the club regardless of success, then that is personal choice.

Very good comment & i feel the same, first relegation season for me was 74/75 & i can remember the last game of the season against Bolton we needed a 6 goal win & hope other results went our way, of course it did'nt happen we lost 2-0 & went down but up until that last game i still had blind faith in the team, there's been a number of relegations since & they've all equally hurt but this time it feels so different & because of Tan & his circus i can't get no enthiusiasm this time.

Not quite right I was there as a 13 year old we lost 2-1 gill reece scored a penalty for us still remember Bolton fans going past on coach pointing down and stupid grins on their ugly faces have hated Bolton since

The difference is/was that some supporters put their hands in their pockets when (unlike now) the club were REALLY in the mire and close to going out of business FACT! and the reward was that they would get a 5-year price freeze as a "thank you" for their gamble and their loyalty to the club they so obviously love (assuming there was actually a club left to support)

I'm not knocking those who didn't 'sign up' at the time, but I will say that EVERYONE (bar those too young to do so) was given the same opportunity to purchase season tickets in the knowledge that the price freeze was attached

We were never able to buy players that January window as we were under a transfer embargo at the time for non payment of players taxes to the revenue and the court hearing was set for February.
Like you say although a lot of people were aware of that they renewed because of their love of the club and the thought of us going out of business was to much to risk

Tbh thought I didn't want to renew, I'd had enough but renewed so for the last price freeze.

Weren't meant to be 'sold' as a negative Luke.

That particular question was designed to try and get responses from those who have not renewed.

I believe we had just under 24,000 (23,800 approx) in total this season with 1,500 tickets going on sale for each home game.

Making it around 25,300 home fans.

Plus the 2,700 away fans giving us a stadium attendance of approximately 28,000

Carl. I thought the club capped season ticket sales at 20000 + corporate last year.

http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/art ... 61755.aspx

When season tickets were taken off sale the capacity was only 26800 of which 2700 was required for away fans.

That leaves 24k

2k corporate, leaving 22k.

Holding 10% of tickets back would be another 2k+ off there. leaving a figure of around 20k. (plus 2k corporate = 22k)

I think there were a small amount extra put on sale later, but not many - a few hundred at most.

If sales are 17k total now as Vince says then we are 5k down. Not forgetting they will be put back on sale and in previous seasons the club has still managed to sell a load more in the second tranche of sales, maybe bringing it up to 18k.

Ive bought my season ticket on the 2nd day available. I will still be there whatever division we are in.
The price rise is very steep.
But at least we get more games to see in the championship.
I don't blame people for not renewing as football is an expensive hobby
Im sure we will still get 20000+ next season in the championship but the ground will look a little bare with the new stand.

The new stand will look pretty bare as only 800-1000 sold for it. The rest of the ground shouldn't be too bad. Ninian Stand pretty well sold again as is the family stand -if they all turn up. ;)

I didn't renew as I believed with around 8 games left we would be relegated. I'm holding on in the Hope season ticket prices will come down, if they don't I will begrudgingly buy one before the season starts, I love the championship and the chase of the big time. I just saw no need to renew on the first opportunity as they would never sell out this year and I never go to my seat anyway
