Solskjaer- Cardiff Need A Miracle -

Cardiff dropped a place to 19th following their crushing 3-0 home defeat against Crystal Palace, and they are now six points adrift of possible safety with just five games left.

Former Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley scored Palace's second goal, in between strikes from Jason Puncheon, as the Londoners continued their spectacular revival under manager Tony Pulis.

"It was a big game for us, and I am very disappointed for the fans and players that we ended up with a performance like this," Cardiff manager Solskjaer said.

"If you produce a miracle - that sometimes happens in football - you are still capable of getting out of this and staying in the Barclays Premier League.

"I am full of fight. It has been a tough season for everyone involved with the club. Today in the second half, it showed a little bit that it has taken its toll.

"There was a lack of belief a little bit towards the end. We ran out of ideas.

"Players are desperate to perform. I have seen them all week, and you are so disappointed for them and the fans that we produced a performance like we did

Of course they want to stay in the league."

We did well at a Villa until their wonder strike & got a point at Stoke... Many bigger and better clubs have lost there this season.

Stoke were awful when we played them ablnd they were there for the taking. We had 1 shot on goal and Malky pumped his fist in celebration at the end. Utterly bizarre.

It's a nonsense for people to cut our managers slack by saying that they have a team of championship players - this is just an excuse.

Swansea and Southampton survived first season with very very similar squads to what they went up with... In my opinion, on paper many teams do not look better than us - Palace, West Ham, Norwich, West Brom to name a few... But all those seem better organised, have a better team spirit and do not make stupid mistakes like we do all the time.

It is not rocket science to pinpoint the decision to appoint a manager with no experience of managing in this country as the reason why City are going down.

There was one half of a season left when he was appointed, more than enough time to gain sufficient points.

Once Tan decided Mackay was to go, he should have got rid of him straight away; all that dithering added to the delay in getting in an appropriate manager.

Once the ridiculous decision, even with the benefit of hindsight, was made to appoint him, that was the death knell. The January signings were terrible. The constant failure to pick the appropriate X1, and suitable tactics to adopt and understand how PL opponents operate has made City laughable if not pitiful.

Such a wasted opportunity. Hull & Palace with experienced PL managers at the wrong end of the table have made Tan's decision to appoint a novice all the more galling when one looks at where those 3 clubs finished last season.

The pre season signings were largely terrible. It is not difficult to look at Hull & Palace to see where they have overtaken City - central midfield and defence and in Hull's case, up front. City's personnel in those areas was painfully and transparently weak. If only Tan had brought in someone with Pl experience to help Mackay and then Solskaer.

No point crying over split milk, what is done is done.

The best thing to do now IMO is to axe Solskaer, either now or after the Chelsea game. City need a clean out during the summer, and to bring in a manager who has some experience - Eddie Howe or Chris Hughton or Steve Clark eg.

What was the stats for that game?

we played well at Villa in the 1st two thirds of the pitch......i dont think there was a Cardiff fan there that thought we could equalise once they scored ,certainly nobody around me did..........for me the 2 games you mention sum Malky up......they were winnable games and he was more afraid to lose than try to win.
