I'm all for doing honourable things at times like this, but a minutes silence just because someone sponsers you is poor taste. Also I'm not sure Tan deserves respect after he's thrown his money around and insulted us many times.

Weird one - I would assume that any minute's silence would be in respect for those who tragically (it would seem) lost their lives. If, and it is if, we had a minute's silence I would be ashamed to be a Cardiff fan if it wasn't respected, Tan or no Tan.

ALthough I can undersatnd the argument that it is slightly random if JUST we have a minute's silence. I would normally assume it would be a nationwide, FA sanctioned minute.

Oh well, back to the original point - A lot of us have a problem with the ownership of our club. A lot of us consider blue to be the clubs tradition and would give anything to see the bluebirds in their rightful colour again. And a lot of us are beginning to wonder whether the premier league was worth selling our identity.

But it has sod all to do with a tragedy in which over 200 lives were taken, and should there be a minute's silence in honour of it as human beings we should respect it.

But any addiotion of the kind is very welcome in my opinion :thumbright:

Out of curiosity as I can't find any further info about this, will the minute silence and Malaysian anthem be just for our game, or for every game in the football league?

If it happens it will be just for us mugs. Sorry but China executes more people a year than were lost on that plane. Shall we have a minutes silence for them as well. And the Malaysians were probably Liverpool fans.

Wrong. What would make us look like morons would be to hold a minutes silence for a plane crash where there is no evidence yet that it has crashed or that anyone has actually died.

Spot on. Imagine if the plane is found and the passengers are all still alive after we have done this minutes silence. Imagine how silly Tan would look. Imagine the unnecessary further torture we would put those passengers families through. I would respect the minutes silence if it goes ahead as these are peoples lives and families we are respecting, but the timing is ridiculous to say the least. I will not respect the Malaysian anthem however. Tan trying to exploit a tragedy to force us to respect his wishes and his Malaysian anthem is emotional blackmail imo and doesn't sit well with me at all.

Plane hasn't been found yet... FFS some desperate souls on here.

What are all these big bits of plane they've found then?

As for the respect, if there's a minute silence, anyone who doesn't respect that is a moron. There should be no national anthem.

Now how would you know they were all inocent ? Good chance that at least one of them could of been a Peado or a Rapist or murderer. Some may of taken it up the arse as well, as you put it. Perhaps instead we could have a minute silence for the death of our identity as a club. Hmmmmmm

I agree that there shouldnt be one, and as far as Im aware there isnt going to be one as the OP was being hypothetical. If there was one though it should be adhered to.

Re: minute silence for Malaysian missing airplane

Like I said earlier no one has died yet so it's hypothetical at present. Perhaps we should hold a minutes silence for the crew of the Marie Celeste or for Madeleine McCann as well. The only minutes silence we should hold is for something that has really perished and that would be our colours.
