I will tell you a little story.

When I was 16, I worked part time in Tesco's. It was Xmas time and my second week there - the manager of the store was telling us all to drive sales by work ethic in the morning meeting. He was very boastful that morning saying "yesterday a man came in and bought 250 cases of the £15 on offer Budweiser, so I sorted him out a pallet out the back and made the company £400 odd in seconds".

I took my gun, scanned the barcode and it said "margin -11%". So I spoke up and said to the manager who was accompanied by the GSM, "surely if we are losing 11% on each case and the offer is a "loss leader" to basically entice people through the door - in which profits are then made by other purchases... Then why the hell would you sell them all to one man who bought nothing else? You lost the company money not made the company money"

The GSM clapped his hands and said to the manager "see what I mean". From then on restrictions were put on sale items to customers.

The moral of the story is, dont let someones job title threaten your own thoughts.

Can't believe you have just given away your identity.....silly boy

True, silly me. You are right, i am the owner of the Tesco franchise

To be honest i don't think even he knew what he was implying.

Not really up on my franchises, but i know someone here who owns a franchise store of boost juice. They have to pay for the build, he essentially owns it but has to give a cut of his profits to Boost Juice. But that branch is under his ownership.

Yeah that's exactly how they work roathie

Biggest franchise company in the world is mcdonalds not sure on exact figures but I've heard the figure of about 40% of all mcdonalds in world are franchises

If you got money to invest franchises are a good way to go IMO yes you pay the main company for using their name etc but it's far easier than establishing your own brand etc as long as you get your location etc right your on to a winner

Beautiful place im sure you agree

I love the whole coastline, from mission beach where I lived for 6 months and my cousin now lives, to the whitsundays and Fraser Island, noosa which has changed immensely since my first stay in 1990 to now, to the beaches around surfers paradise, burleigh heads etc down to the beautiful Byron bay where I would move tomorrow if I could. I wish I hadn't come back now if I'm honest...great lifestyle and the country although expensive is a fine place to bring up a family.

And here, we were walking up the beach to the inlet where the water is crystal crear. You can see coral reef and fish swimming at your feet when the water is above your head. Anyway, as we went for a dip we ended up swimming with a pod of dolphinis who came up to us out of curiosity - an amazing privilage and it will stay with me forever.

Completely amd utterly the most beautiful place ive ever been on the planet to date.

Lovely animals, seen a few of them. They wouldnt eat me as they know I have to keep you lot in check, it would mess with the equilibrium of the planet if you fellas were allowed to run a mock.

I keep you grounded.

I remember staying on Fraser Island, paddling around by that wreck on 10 mile beach or whatever it's called and just 100 yards out were literally hundreds of reef sharks, they show you the pics back at the hostel to keep you out. Add to that the most poisonous snakes and spiders and wild dingo's it's an amazing place. All made from winds blowing sand from the mainland.
As for the whitsundays, I kayaked around them for a few days and spent a few nights on uninhibited islands, best time of my life...what do you do out there then roathie? I hope to get back in the next few years as have rels there

Ive not been to Fraser but plan to. I have some friends that did it last year and they say the same as you. There is one side of Fraser where you cant swim (east?) as there are too many sharks! :D I saw some people kayaking around the whitsundays and was extremely envious. We just took a water taxi to Whitehaven beach and camped there, there was only about 4 other people there come night time, so we would get up at 5am and snorkel the fringing reef. Amazing.

I run my businesses from here. The one back in the UK is a full time thing but I now employ a manager so I get plenty of time off from that. My other is in properties here, which allows us to see different places all over the country. The last one we did, before this one on the sunshine coast, was in Darwin and there were some mental experiences there I can tell you. Like the following scene after a walk to the Adelaide River... (Pic below)

I dont recommend Darwin though. Not much there. We then drove down right through the middle which was spectacular, stayed at Uluru and kata tjuta. Incredible place. The drive is insane though. You see eagles the size of children eating kangaroos and emu's on the side of the road. Its bizarre.
