We will be getting behind the team. Besides its a well known fact the players are with us in this and any blue chanting during the game is just as encouraging as any other chant.

That's got nothing to do with either of my posts. I said about being told not to take banners to the march, people complain about Tan being controlling but what is this? People can take a banner if they like, or carry a can or bottle with them should they choose to. Nobody can stop them protesting if they have a banner or alcohol with them. They should be inviting people along to protest, not telling them what they can and can't do

Re: ' CARDIFF CITY FANS UNITE IN PROTEST AGAINST THE REBRAND

Wed Mar 12, 2014 6:34 pm

Details of protests planned by Cardiff fans for March 22 over the club's change from blue to red shirts have been released.

The Welsh outfit play Liverpool at Cardiff City Stadium in the Barclays Premier League at 3pm that day and a group of home supporters are set to march to the venue from the nearby Admiral Napier pub an hour before kick-off.

Having reached the ground, they then plan to sing "pro-blue songs" and give a "show of blue pride" outside the main reception area.

It is proposed that they will then once again make their point known from the stands from 19 minutes and 27 seconds into the match with scarves, flags and songs. Cardiff won the FA Cup, their only major honour, in 1927.

A statement on the Cardiff City Supporters Club website said of the protest: "It will be an opportunity for all Cardiff City fans to show that they do not support the rebrand of the club's colours and strongly desire a return to Cardiff City's traditional blue kit and Bluebird badge.

"The march is backed by all major fan groups and will be supported by members of The Cardiff City Supporters Trust, The Cardiff City Supporters Club, Cardiff City Forum, Cardiff City Online and Bluebirds Unite.

"In addition all other supporters groups, individual supporters and their families are invited and encouraged to attend.

"The one and only objective of the march is for fans to display a mass show of pride in Cardiff City's heritage and tradition and to peacefully demonstrate our strong desire to return to our blue kit with Bluebird badge."

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan's controversial decision to change the team's shirts from blue to red and badge from a bluebird to dragon design took effect from the start of the 2012/13 season.

You just don't get it do you  The main reason people won't attend these marches is because of pissed up drunks carrying cans and waving abusive banners whilst shouting racist comments attend and that's why certain rules have been made

You my friend are either blind or deluded, all protests I have been to have had a mixture of Men, Women and children of all ages, there are plenty of photos on the net to prove it. If you would like to see us back in blue then it's pretty simple go to the protest and let your feelings be heard. Will it work ? who knows but for me I know it's 100% worth fighting for. If you don't agree fair enough that's your opinion but don't try and mock what people are trying to do.

You may not agree with "no alcohol", but if you can't stop having a drink for an hour or so to get to the protest, then is say the blue cause isn't that important to you.

Who says the banner has to be abusive? Or why do the people with cans have to be pissed up drunks? The point of my post is that the organisers are trying to tell people that they're not allowed to protest with them if they bring a banner or a can. Just a bunch of people who like to be in control if you ask me

It's not that, it just seems like "my way or no way" from the organisers. No worse than the man they are protesting against.

Re: ' CARDIFF CITY FANS UNITE IN PROTEST AGAINST THE REBRAND

Wed Mar 12, 2014 7:48 pm

I won't be going despite the fact that I am strongly against the rebrand and want nothing more than a return to Blue.

So why am I not going?

Because there can be no doubt that the whole event will end up as a massive anti-Tan demonstration. We all know that certain of our so-called fans will use the opportunity to chant personal abuse bordering on racism and those in charge of the protest will be unable to prevent it.

A good idea in principle but with the depth of feeling it will be impossible to maintain the stated purpose of the march.

Sorry all, would love to join you but those that think the march will be just about getting our colours back are going to find themselves part of something somewhat different.

Everything in life has rules. If not being able to have a drink is going to stop you protesting, it's a shit excuse.

If everyone turned up pissed, drinking from cans, it would send out the wrong impression. Borley has already once tried to discredit a fans meeting because it was held in a pub and pics had people with cans in their hands.

As I said in another thread:

There is never going to be one protest that fits everyone's beliefs....

Some want Tan Out
Some want Tan to stay but to revert to blue
Some want the fans to have a greater say on club matters

BUT, if you want to see Cardiff City in their traditional blue strip at home again, I urge you to join the protest planned for the next home game.

Let's show Vincent how important our identity is to us. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The day after the march i will be 60 :old: .Been on a few marches before showing support for the team.
Time you youngsters followed the oldies.

Its time we all united together as one voice to show Mr Tan what we feel for OUR club, (we will always be blue ) we will be here after he has long gone.

The need to show the football world how much we care in a peaceful demonstration has been a long time coming, This march will get everyone onside if we stick to just the changing of colour to blue.No bad language or racist calls for Tan to go will help our cause, the eyes of the football media will be watching us so everyone please stick to the ALWAYS BE BLUE.

Hope that many of you will join me on saturday 22nd for the MARCH for our BLUE future.

Then on to the game for 3 points against Liverpool.

Re: ' CARDIFF CITY FANS UNITE IN PROTEST AGAINST THE REBRAND

I've changed my mind as I previously stated I would not go on this march. I still personally feel that after the recent interview given by Tan stating he will not change us back to Blue this leaves us only one choice, which is to drive Tan out. After all he also said he would walk if we want him to. However, this march is gaining in strength and numbers and seems well organised which is advantageous over the other previous marches. Therefore, I will now be attending as you can't argue with Tan when he thinks only 10% reject the Red because that is we as fans have shown him by way of numbers during the other protest marches. There is one clear message ''Back To Blue'' What we have to show this time is sheer numbers with one message and earning respect through a peaceful march.

See you all there :ayatollah:

I'll definitely be on the march, the no alcohol thing isn't such a big thing for me personally, but the organisers should just let whoever wants to turn up do so without thinking they have the right to tell them what to do. I really can't get my head around the no banner thing :?

If they just let everyone do what they wanted, it would be an unmitigated disaster & would actually strengthen tan's position.

The no banner thing is trying to stop Tan out banners I'm guessing.
