Sunderland we threw away a 2 goal lead and West Ham we started way too attacking and open, making it no surprise when West Ham scored their early first goal. I don't think either would have happened if Malky was still in charge and we would have taken more than 1 point from those 2 games, which would have meant we would have stayed above the relegation zone after losing to Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd away. I think we would have done better than just 1 point from our Villa and Hull home games too. That's only my opinion of course mind.

I differ based on where we were with Malky and where we are now without Malky, after "improving" the squad with Ole's January signings (which Tan says he got involved in to ensure we made "good" deals). When even Mark Lawrenson says we wouldn't be in this position with Malky still here, despite predicting us to lose pretty much every game this season says it all.

Sunderland, Malkys back room team, and Malkys tactics cost us 2 points. Went into survival mode far too early, camped in our own box from 65 minutes onwards, negative substitutions it was very Malky-esque.

West Hams first goal was from a cleared corner, the ball hit the ref, they switched it and then schoolboy defending / ball watching by Whitts and KTC, f**k all to do with being open We battered them 2nd half just couldnt score. We had countless corners and couldnt convert one of them and that was Malkys main source of goals so how you conclude we would have won that game I dont know.

You say you deal in facts and not assumptions yet assume we would have beaten all of the bottom half teams at home (Even though our record against them away was shit), based on we beat Swansea and West Brom in 2 scrappy wins.

I was supposed to type our next 2 home games were against Sunderland and West Ham, which doesn't really suggest it was our toughest run of fixtures. How must have poor Malky felt having Man City for his very first home game and then Man Utd and Arsenal in a row at home? Very hard to get points, just like it was hard for Ole to get points away in January. But your argument of Malky messing up with easy games and Ole having tough games is complete nonsense.

I gave up reading your excuses for our West Ham performance. Everyone at the game could see we started off way too open and this contributed to West Ham putting enough pressure on us to score the first goal. Be honest, we could all see the first West Ham goal coming with the way we started that game. You simply don't understand the game if you can't admit how open we were in that game (and other games) is asking for trouble and it's no surprise we have plummeted into the relegation zone playing this open style.

I very much liked the way we set up at Spurs however and I think we should stick to that system with the 3 centre backs and wing backs. Of course, that unfortunately means we won't be playing this more exciting, attacking football that some of you were crying out for. But with our recent results, I hope some of you can now understand why Malky set us up the way he did and why Ole decided to switch to a more negative system at Spurs.

It would help the integrity of your post if you put in all of the games under Malky Conveniently left Liverpool and Southampton out, 2 games were we were 3 nil down by the half hour mark.

We lost by 2 or more goals in 8 of Malkys 18 league games, and in a number of those games were 2 goals down by half time.

So not exactly difficult to beat.

I don't think anyone can argue we were not harder to beat under Malky.

Malky, played 18, lost 9 = 50%

Ole, played 8, lost 6 = 75%

and I am behind both managers but the slurs on Malky are ridiculous but then also are those who won't get behind Ole when he has only just got settled into the job.

So they were both easy to beat

Had Malky retained his job that 50% was on the up with the away games we had to come 2nd half of the season.

Cmon, in his first 8 games Ole has had to go away to Man City, Man U, Swansea and Spurs. Next up away from home Everton.

The one game were Ole truly let himself down was the Hull home game.

We are a newly promoted side, if we finished the season with a 50% defeat ratio (19 defeats) then there is a good chance we might stay up!

I do sympathise with Ole and this isn't knocking him, it's more defending Malky. Ole is obviously going to be less tough to beat because he isn't so defensive but hopefully when we get it together we will have more chance of winning games than we did under Malky.
