Why are we not taking the games by the scuff of the neck and finishing them off? We do awesome in the first half then flat as a pancake in the 2nd. If we cant do anything in the 2nd finish it off in the first!!

Thats Vilas game to hit on the counter, sounds like we are playing better then recent games, but seems Villa have a bit more class then us which might be starting to show.

We will be lucky to hang on here. Starting to fade again.

Come on ogs change it up! Switch noone to the left or something! They have stopped us this half.need to do something different!Jones looks lazy to me,not even putting himself about!! Needs to be more committed! Hull and w.brom losing.come on city .

Bring Jones off and put on Berget, cant do any worse. Jones is pretty useless, zero emergency or desire from him.

Agreed jones looks uninterested! Too late now! What a change from the first half! We are poor in the final third as usual.sad to see lots of city fans leaving again!!

Play Berget behind Campbell next game. Jones is useless.

Marshall is quick becoming one of the premier leagues finest keepers, the amount of points hes earnt us this season is unreal :ayatollah:

Missed opportunity as all other results went our way.

Marshall has once again somehow saved us.

It really looks like we're going down lads, sad to say but I've already mentally prepared myself for it.

Better a point than nothing. Happy with what I saw. Campbell had possibly his best game this season, not having to be the target man.

If we'd put away one of those chances in the first half...

A lot of positives to take away from this game for sure, Dæhli was OK against a proper defense, Eikrem did a good job for Mutch, and jesus, Medel sure can boss a midfield

Unbelievable performance by Marshall and Turner, both put themselves on the line.

Zaha make an effort, but sometime I get a little frustrated. He sure likes to dribble, but please pass after dribbling the first man and not try to dribble true the hole team. Should have won this, since it is Aston Villas home away match. Lacking the last spark, but good team selection, and if this team selection get "warm" it may hold a chance. Was not too negative after the deadline day, but after the last two matches I now think it was a petty we didn't sign another striker. Crowd must stay strong. :ole:

From a neutral (Boro-fan) point of view (well, to be honest, I'm a Solskjaer-fan, not really a Cardiff-fan), you were both lucky and unlucky to get away with 1 point tonight. Really shocking to see Agbonlahor miss a few sitters late in the game. Top saves from Marshall, of course!

OGS is really taking risks with playing with 4 offensive players, and even adding the 5th with fellow norwegian Eikrem coming on after 30 mins. In the last few matches, they haven't really reaped the rewards for being so offensive. Hence, the opponents are always looking like a big threat on the counter. You really need to play another DM next to Medel. Eikrem can NOT play as 1 of 2 holding/defensive midfielder. It's really scary when he looses the ball, or misses with a pass. He's not quick enough to fix his own errors either. If Eikrem should fit in, he needs to defensive midfielders next to him, so he can roam around in the hole.

People are slagging Kenwyne Jones off already, which is partially understandable - BUT, he is a sort of player who actually CAN score against anyone, with his physical presence. He just needs that perfect cross once in a game, to score really (even though that rarely happends). But as a norwegian, having had to cope with John Carew for a couple of years, I know exactly how it is with such a player...I think Jones should play alone on top, if he is to play at all, in a more defensive line-up. (Bellamy/Zaha - Jones - Noone/Dæhli)

Defense was pretty good, with Ben Turner of course imperious. Really good game! But of course, he's quite limited, and has to be used against the right attackers. (i.e. Benteke). Not sure what Cala brings to the team, but I can easily see him being picked ahead of Turner for a few games.

KTC much better than Fabio on the RB, of course, but Declan John doesn't offer to much of defensive security.

So all in all, I think OGS is trying a bit too hard to become a fluent and offensive team, with offensive fullbacks and wingers who doesn't track back enough. (At least Zaha) The players aren't good enough to play that sort of style YET, so I think he should shore up things defensively, and try to get the odd goal and a 1-0-win.

Had a great time at the stadium tonight, was far from a boring 0-0 :) I think we can learn lessons from today and use a bit more finesse in the striking to take points from upcoming games!
