If more clubs have an even distribution then the pass mark will be lower because the mode/median etc.

The more points evenly distributed by teams and the closer they are to one another the lower the pass mark is.

That basic KS3 Maths FFS. Hardly Calculus or Boolean algebra.

We have what we have - and this year it seems the pass mark will be higher. Already 10% UP on last year and thats with the two clubs directly above relegation having only played 23.

We mention stats all the time we may be 2 points higher than bottom 3 were last season but it also depends on fixture lists as well many of lower end teams now have tougher run ins than others meaning after 30 games the table may only look 4/5 points different than it does now and exactly the same as last year
I'm sticking with 10 year survival average of 36.1 pts and saying that 37 will be enough this season doesn't look that way at present but Fulham could still be on 19 after 27 games with there next 3 games looking tough on paper likewise if we beat Swansea they could be right down there and if west brom continue to slump

I think Fulham have made a big mistake buying those players just don't see them staying up if the yet nothing at all from next 3 games that would leave them on 19 after 27 and they could be 7/9 points adrift come end of February, I'd take our position over theirs any day now doesn't mean we will stay up but we have far better chance as we've removed that tough period already

It all depends on the fixture list.

18th's next 8 games could be Liverpool away, Man City at home, Chelsea at Home, Southampton away, Man Utd away, Spurs at home, Arsenal at home, Everton away. That could quite realistically be 0 points and then 18th will still have 20 points with 6 games left.
