Anyway we were only kids and on the opposite side of the ground where the City fans were, it was the equivalent of our Bob bank but smaller. Both City & Millwall were in there and it seemed like they were just left to get on with it, I always remember some lad with a balloon on a string behind us and another balloon coming towards us and realised they were coming to get us. Even then they had ways of communicating, it was a case of f**k this shit just stand by the coppers but even they told us to more or less f**k off if your daft enough to come in here your going to get hurt. It was nice to get back home that night in one piece, Swindon was always a dodgy place I thought.

We asked for police protection at Millwall & was told "sorry lads, you know the score when you come here", they did'nt want to know but who could blame them? & in truth they were right, we were on their manor & although it was'nt right you could expect a greeting from Millwall's finest, we took a beating at New Cross Gate Station (i was only 15 at the time) by a group of 20 somethings but you just took it on the chin & excepted it. Away trips to a lot of grounds in london in the 70's & 80's was a scary experience but Millwall took it to another level & was a far cry from the hand gestures, bouncing & invisible walls of today, thankfully away trips are safe these days & all the violence is verbal gesturing.

if you traveled......you were likely to have it...........so...if you traveled, you stuck together, which in turn made the home team mob up more.............it was exciting, its actually what hooked me on Cardiff if im honest

If you were being targeted then fair enough, you defend yourselves. But fans who went looking for it are pathetic.

The togetherness of our fanbase is what got me hooked on Cardiff City back in the Ninian Park days. I loved the banter with opposition fans on match days when I was a kid and I still do now, it makes the whole experience better. But to fight over it is just pathetic. We're all football fans at the end of the day and we all go because we love the sport and supporting our team.

what we had at NP, the us against the world togetherness........where do you think that came from.........was a case of if you traveled you to some degree were involved......scenario..you and a mate go to the Ethiad, no cctv, no stewards, an inept police force, your walk to the Ethiad includes a few slaps, a near miss and being chased, in the ground you come across a bunch who can really handle themselves that are going home on the train .........your train.......do you run the gauntlet back alone, or join this bunch?..

You understand what I'm trying to say though, I'm not talking about fans who stand up for themselves. If an opposition fan started running at me, I would defend myself.

The fans who start it on the other hand are sad and pathetic.

I've seen you arranging to meet other posters for a fight :lol:true or not Jon. fighting over a forum ffs your just a boy.

I'd like to see you prove that. :laughing5:

Nanny McPhail or whatever his name is wanted to meet me because I called him a prick for a valid reason, and he got mad. He insisted I told him where I sat, so I did, and then he didn't respond. That's hardly "arranging to meet other posters for a fight".

I'm a 38 year old man, I didn't respond as I don't take anything said on here personally at all. You're a chopsy little c**t I'll give you that but like I said, it goes straight over my head. ;)

Considering you insisted I told you where my season ticket seat is at the CCS so I could call you a prick to your face, and then demanded proof, I would say you take the internet very seriously.
