I think Whittingham will see the bench at half time or shortly thereafter. He has been good at picking the ball up in own half and bringing it into transition play, but he has wasted all the corners he's taken so far and has been unplayable in offense. Though I will say that he seems to be fired up, for what it counts. But expect to see Eikrem on soon.

We just dont have enought pace in the side. Happy with the score going into half time though

Hasn't beaten the first defender with his crosses  He has to do better with set pieces, he looks better than previous games in open play though.

Take off Whitts and Gunnarson, bring on Wolff and bellers. We are in real need of a decent CB, Turner is just not up to it at this level. Gets turned inside out, when you want him to hoof it he dicides to pass it in the box :?

Take Whitts off? You kidding me? Apart from his corners, the guy looks more fired up than he has all season. He's got that vibe about him today, feel like he could find a killer pass.

Eikrem needs to come on for Whittingham half time he's too soft in the tackle and his delivery is sheit today. Wish we could take Turner off too his fault for the second goal but we only have Hudson in defence. I would put Medel alongside Caulker at half time too drop Gunnarsson into the deep role and bring on Kim. So for me Turner and Whittingham off replace them with Kim and Eikrem. If we can stay in the game then we have Bellamy on the bench to change the game. Come on bluebirds give em hell :ayatollah:

Killer pass back towards our goal. He just isn't good enough IMO. Got robbed a couple of times dilly dallying.

Fair play though, whatever the final score ends up being, we are still in this at half time. There's better teams who have been down and out at this point when playing at the Etihad this season.

Now to be the first team to take some points! :D

Here we go again, making Whittingham the scaprgoat.

Aside from his set pieces, he's been decent today, no worse than anyone else really. He's been extremely calm and composed when taking the ball out of defence.

I kind of agree with both of you. It's up to OGS of course, but I'm thinking that he's thinking that what Whitts is delivering right now is best suited for a different kind of game ; he's up there linking defense and offense pretty competently, but in this kind of game you need to exploit each and every opportunity, and that includes set pieces.

Since Eikrem probably hasn't got the drill down for Cardiff's set piece instructions down yet (he didn't take set pieces when he was on against West Ham though I guarantee he's the best set piece provider of your entire squad) it is also likely that Bellamy will make an entry soon.

All of this makes me think Bellamy will probably come in first priority, Eikrem in maybe at the same time or at the 60th.

Whittingham has been brilliant. okay his corners haven't been up to par. but he's been magnificent in open play today so far. i'd understand being frustrated about losing the ball. but we're playing Man City ffs. we were never going to dominate possession. we have to counter when we can, and Whitts has been brilliant

If we're going to slag him off for his poor deliveries, lets give him credit for those two brilliant crosses.

City must be careful now. They've been within a goal of Man City twice, and have even been level. The danger is that they fall to pieces and lose by 3 or 4.

Ah well, at least we tried when we were one goal behind. Rather lose 10-1 trying to get something than 2-1 accepting defeat.
