The notion of "franchising" in sports comes from the US. Basically in American sports the NFL, MLS, NBA and MLB have a governing body and they stipulate the "franchises" (the teams) and their locations. You could argue that the PL is similar since we know that club name changes need PL approval. Didn't stop MK Dons. But as we all know money talks whatever "franchise" we are working under.

Ultimately does the governing body, the PL, care about identities and locations? Only if the changes threatened their income. Hull City or Hull Tigers....? They probably don't care and if your governing body doesn't care what hope is there.

Don't forget we have only been investing in the playing side since Dave Jones left the club. We have not made any major sales yet. I think come the end of the season CCFC may prove to have quite a few million wrapped up in 'assets' - i.e. players. We can't buy forever without selling. Our squad is of a size now where it will be something like a one in one out scenario...

Swansea lost over 8m when they got promoted and they are a well run club, hardly a surprise ours is so much higher when you consider the money we spent and the wages we pay.

At the end of the day the debt becomes irrelevant while Tan owns, its his money and its him we owe rather than the banks. I think thats why the idea of running him out of town is a little crazy unless anyone can offer a real alternative.

Re: ' £30m+ LOSS IN LATEST ACCOUNTS '

Doesn't bother me, I can't do anything about it so it's up to those on the board and that etc what they do, not entirely sure who we owe what to but if we convert the debt to equity, it'll look a whole lot clearer

the £8m loss was promotion bonuses and contract triggers regarding transfer fees. If we didnt win the play off final we would have broken even as the £8m wouldnt have been owed. It is fine business management knowing the windfall of the Prem. however when you get there you cant ignore it which is seems is what Tan has done as hes spent £100m including wages since then. Thats all the Prem money and more where as we made a £16m profit with 40% less income from TV rights.

but we will leave at some point, so the debt levels of the club is always relevant. As soon as it isnt financially viable then he will cut the business just like anyone else would. For me, this will be relegation. The outgoing will still be there as these players have signed long contracts but the income is reduced by 70% and that includes parachutes. Will Tan want to foot the bill of £50m losses a year?

I certainly wouldnt.

I'm absolutely staggered by the response to this news! Blue or Red? Does it matter? It seems that each and every one of them has lost all sense of reality, know they have and don't care! it's like something out of Quatermass with Ley Ley Ley, being replaced by Tan Tan Tan!
Stock exchange floats in the Far East is going to bring in zillions? £30m loss is peanuts? For gods sake when is all of this going to end with this lot! The most amazing thing I find in all of this here, is that they have the audacity to mention that SCFC lost £8m in our promotion season due to bonus payments. These payments were made to our heroes of the day, they deserved it. Just like Cardiffs players were their heroes last year. But of course Tan 'stole' their heroes bonus from them, but theres not one mention of that by any single one of them on this thread! And that is simply because they couldn't give a shit! Couldn't care what colour they play in, couldn't care their heroes are ripped off by their owner, couldn't care about anything but a total fantasy that they are going to be bigger than what they will ever be on someone else's money and it ain't going too happen! What a barrel of rotten apples. Rotten to the core!

the £8m loss was promotion bonuses and contract triggers regarding transfer fees.

At the end of the day the debt becomes irrelevant while Tan owns, its his money and its him we owe rather than the banks. I think thats why the idea of running him out of town is a little crazy unless anyone can offer a real alternative.

but we will leave at some point, so the debt levels of the club is always relevant.

They are on a completely different planet.

What would be the point in that? A forum full of posters all agreeing with each other? Not for me thank you. I'd much rather reply to posters like you. It makes me feel so much better! :laughing6:

Thank you for your constructive input though!
