Castro while OGS can't be compared to M. Laudrup in terms of playing ability etc. in terms of how well known both of them are then OGS can be compared. The EPL is broadcast in 220 territories, by 80 broadcasters to 643m households every week, whereas La Liga only reached a cumulative audience for the 2011/12 season of 235m for the whole season. The EPL has a global audience which raises the profile of players, whereas La Liga is mainly a Spanish audience plus a bit of interest from a few Spanish speaking countries.
It really doesn't matter. Its like comparing Michael Laudrup with Jimmy Ffloyd Hasselbaink. One had more TV exposure however the other is much better known. Hes up there with Zidane - who also didnt play in the premier league remember.
It does matter as the post is about Marketing the club and as OGS has had more media exposure through the far greater audience of the EPL, then he is more well known and is a positive business masterstroke by VT. Your initial argument about M. Laudrup's playing ability was irrelevant as it is media exposure which is the key to marketing. This is why people who are NOBODY'S with no talent can become famous on reality TV and hence make a lot of money.
It wasnt my argument. It was my reply to his argument that Solskjaer was more successful so would get more fans. That os nonsense.
Pele got less exposure than Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Ask the world who they know more. Same goes with Laudrup. Solskjaer wasnt even a star ayer for United let aline the Premier League.
Do you think Ipswich has hoardes of fans and world wide exposure because Roy Keane was their manager (5 times the player of Solskjaer).
Ipswich are not in the EPL and while Keane was arguably a better player it is doubtful that he had as much media exposure, as OGS scored almost 200 more goals than him in his career (260 as opposed to 66) and goals get headlines.
You dont think Roy Keane had as much media exposure as OGS?!![]()
Roy Keane is one if the most talked about and written about football players the Premier League has ever seen.

unbelievable isnt?the same roy keane ogs made captain of his best 1-11 he played with and the same roy keane who had more exposure for quitting a world cup than most players will recieve in a lifetime x20.never mind all his achievements .
i,like yrself think ogs is a great appointment for ccfc.the potential for him and ccfc to grow/do well is massive.one thing iv noticed tonight is the ccfc fans getting excited because ogs has good contacts/history /media image.if tan messes this one up and shafts ogs someway or another then surely this will result in bad publicity for the club?i dont get this any publitity is good publitity-ask gerrard ratner.

This thread continues to stagger me mate. Next they will be saying Ian Wright would be a great manager addition because hes famous and scored a fair few in the Prem.
Solskjaer was a substitute for most of his career, was very rarely in the papers or news on a regular basis. Its like overnight they have turned him into a Premier League and world wide superstar that people cant get enough of

If Keane is more talked about, how do you explain that when you google both names there are 7,990,000 results for Keane and 27,900,000 results for OGS, or to put it another way about 1,000,000 more results for every extra 10 goals that OGS scored. You keep to your subjective comments and I'll keep to the statistical facts!

Beat him to being more talked about this month, yes.
The average interest is the graph on the left which includes this month and the furore regarding Tan and the managerial situation.
Roy Keane hasnt even been in management for ages and still more interest in him than a managerial active Ole.

ole was manager of little molde ,not on everyone's lips but going forward he'll leave kean for dead in your next graph.

Yep, im sure the world are clamouring to see what Ireland are doing with Keane as number 2![]()
The fact is, he merely mentioned Alex Ferguson last month and his google searches went up almost to the level of Solskjaer taking over a basket case of a situation.
I have a google search result from 2004 aswell if you would like to see it, its not pretty reading for your man.

I'd expect Laudrup to win because he won a cup with you last year and has obviously been managing in a higher profile league.
