Not another one

So you proved you are a better team than man city too then?

One off matches mean nothing. Sunderland beat Chelsea yesterday, cant see many Mackems thinking that they must now be better than Chelsea. They are going to be bitterly disappointed come season end :laughing6:

You're representing England actually.

Another glamour tie? Yet you couldn't even sell out for the previous one. :laughing5:

If Swansea were really the number 1 team in Wales, they wouldn't have lost to their capital city.

Im pretty sure he wasnt refering to the St Gallen match

And you think Palace are better than you too I assume? :D

Why people have a go at Paul for such ridiculous posts and then reply with equally flabbergasting nonsense is beyond me. Instead of one stupid post we now have 3 pages of stupid posts, and people wonder why the forum is going downhill. Thank goodness im here to add some sense to the procedings.

Sense to the proceedings? Its the same old shit with you, You're right and everyone else is wrong.

Accept people have got a different opinion you mental tw*t

Re: And so it seams

Its one thing having a differing opinion, its another to change it when it suits.

People seem to have the opinion the fact we didnt win the derby suggests we are close in terms of quality - yet dont feels it applies to Man City, palace... Or any other game for that matter. Well im afraid it doesnt work like that, that isnt an opinion, thats just ridiculous and i will rightly put it in its place whether you like it or not

Im sure any sane individual who has watched football for longer than 5 mins realises that one off games doent prove who is better. If so, do you think Sunderland are better than Chelsea? Palace better than you? Us better than chelsea? You better than man city? Etc etc etc its nonsense - surely there is no real argument other than it being completely nonsensical? If so id love to hear it.

However the generally accepted way to see who is better overall is the league table. Approaching the halfway point we are what most people expected - on course for a 7 or 8 point difference which assuming we get similar point we what we did last season and the season before puts us on 46 and you on 38 - that isnt close.

Now whos the "mental tw*t" - the guy who speaks sense, or the one that thinks whoever wins is best - coz im afraid that opinion is batshit crazy

Indeed - Or just look at it now to see who is better so far as we are near the halfway point.

Either way, the point in which i made regarding the nonsense theories (to which you called me crazy for opposing) regarding deciding who is better by who wins a single match... You now agree with....Funny that.

So as I was saying - absolute twaddle and glad you now agree.

Whats the point in that? Cause if we get 4 points from our next 2 games and you get 0 that means we'll be higher than you, Does that mean we're better than you?

Id rather make my descion at the end of the season look where the both teams finish and look at the results in both our games, Now 16 games in its irrelevant IMO

And that is your right to do that.

However the more games we have the more accurate the table becomes. Its the same with anything, the more tests in a subject, the more accurate the thesis or hypothesis.

We cant look into the future unfortunately. So out of deciding who is best from 1 game or over the course of 16 where we have played mostly the same teams - what is more sensible?

And there in lies your answer and my participation in this thread putting all the bollox "we beat you so we are better" theories in their place - the realm of nonsense :malky:

I think its a fairly safe bet to say we will get a better result home to Everton than you will away to Liverpool. Even if its just increasing the goal difference.

I never said it was a certainty but its the most likely scenario isnt it. If not then id like to be your bookie.

Not really. We could park the bus and lose 1-0 at anfield. You could lose 2-0 to Everton (who are far better team then you)

Liverpool are farther ahead of you than Everton are of us. We are home you are away.

As i said, if you think there is more chance of you getting a better result then id love to be your bookie :laughing6:

I didn't say it was, but it's not safe to say that you will get a better result.
