But to come out in the press and state that you wont be spending a penny after your manager as stated he would like players in? surely he would have been better off telling MM that on the quiet rather that undermining him?

All part of the plan to undermine Malky. As you say far easier to have this discussion behind closed doors. It's not Tan's style though.

I find it f*cking laughable that the blame is put on Malky and Moody, when either Tan or that little worm Lim would have sanctioned any spending. How Lim has survived this is a joke but he's got his nose so far up Tans arse, it's impossible to get it out.

Yes but tan does not know football, malky and moody choose cornelius and Brayford, so that over 10mil wasted. Tan would have listened to malky and moody before he signed the cheque.

I cannot imagine anyone on this forum would go to the local paper tomorrow and give them a story on what you want from your employers without talking to them???

Malky needs to remember the club, owner & fans are bigger than him sometimes and in the last 24 hours he's admitted Cornelius was a waste for our immediate aim and he's undermined his superiors - he's starting to really get on my nerves when you couple this with the crap we have to witness at Stoke & Palace

He has completely undermined Malky in the press , if he's not happy with his comments then do it in house not to the press

Agree with you ,no new money then malky needs to earn his money and ship a few players out that we've already wasted cash on and get some cash in ,it's called wheeling and dealing just like most managers

Agree players have to be sold first, Conway, mcnaughton, Brayford, cornelius, Maynard

Missed out 3 million pound man velikonia ,get rid of them and use the money to get in a few loans players ,if malky can'tdo that without moody then he should be sacked

The best way to balance the books is to stay in the Premiership, if we get relegated Tan will lose a shedload no question.

i hope some deal can be sorted for malky to go soon, its going to happen and at least if he goes now the new manager will probably get backed in January. I love malky, but vt not going anywhere. malky going will actually strengthen our chances of staying up, unless some unknown turk takes over.........

How to undermine a manager the cardiff city way............
It would be funny if it wasn't true. How can Malky continue knowing he is going to be micromanaged to this level.

I suspect a case of unfair dismissal could be on the cards. Tan is becoming very close to a constructive bullying case against him.

Maybe Tan likes the ideas AVB had at spurs!!!

malky should have checked with tan what funds were available,if any before telling everyone his shopping list.

So Tan should spend 12 mil on a samba, pay him 100k a week and we still get relegated and go busyt, OK

Cornelius is not wasted money, he was top scorer in his first season in Superliga and i have no doubt he has a very bright future, MM said he is not quite ready yet, we had to wait a while before MM was ready to play Kimbo and people on here said back then that it looks like Kimbo was a waste of money, well that certainly is not the case now!

Only place we really need to strengthen is on the wing. It made such a difference Saturday having a winger on the pitch who ran at defenders, we would be twice the attacking force if we had that on the left. I would seriousl consider recalling Conway.
That £8million spent on Cornellius looks a massive waste of resources atm. Imagine having a proven 8 mill winger in our ranks now instead. I would feel a lot better about ur survival chances. I'm a big Malky fan and think he should be given the season regardless of results or performance and think the team spirit will be enough to keep us up. However the signing of Cornelius for that amount of money was a massive mistake (even if he does turn out to e brilliant in 3-4 years time) and one that may cost him his job unfortunatley.

Bellamy £35k/wk. Maynard, Campbell, Odemwingie, gonna be minimum £20k/wk each plus £8m odd fees, Cornelius £8m+, Mason, Rudy. I think Malky was a bit cheeky asking for a striker.

Can he trust Malky with big funds again after this supposed overspend and wasting millions on duds?

There has been a complete breakdown in trust between the owner and manager. This usually ends up in the manager being sacked but Tan doesn't want to have to pay out again to get rid and why should Malky resign.

The biggest loser her though is the football club and this battle can only harm our chances of survival.

Its sad to say but there is no way back for Malky now. Him an Tan need to agree a compensation package and go their separate ways so everyone can move on and we can focus on the task in hand - keeping this club in the premier league.

Totally agree with this post it's the sensible way forward.

Re: Vincent Tan tells Malky Mackay " No Money in January "

Mon Dec 16, 2013 8:01 pm

As bullshit as it is that the club could come out with this statement, completely undermining its manager, I really do think we all need to look at what is being said in it. Tan says he gave Malky £35m - that's huge. With add ons, the bill hit £50m - that's enormous. Would ANYONE look at our transfers and say they were worth £50m? Hell, Malky just told us all that Cornelius isn't ready for the Premier League - and you just KNOW that deal had add ons to it too, probably costing us closer to £10m. Bloody insane.

Tan told us he'd reveal all about Moody's dismissal when the time was right, as he didn't want to add fuel to the fire that was raging at the time - now he's come out and told us. Safe to say, Malky must have really pissed him off with his statement about buying new players in January. And if you look into Malky's wording in said interview, it does actually imply that he knows there's no money but he's trying to point out publicly how as a newly promoted team we are playing catch up, etc etc - if that's the case, he's clearly playing a dangerous game.

With all that said, we do need new players in January, and I could have foreseen a £15m investment. But, if Tan's comments are to be believed (which I think they are - why would be publicly lie about a clear financial issue at the club?), that £15m has already gone into the club, so I can't exactly jump on the anti-Tan bandwagon and start slating him for not putting more money in.

Malky has some good players who haven't featured yet. Harris, Mason, Conway - they'd all offer us another dimension. And how will we know they aren't PL quality unless we try them out? Hell, I'm sure the reason he wasn't playing Noone was 'cos he didn't think he was PL quality, and yet Noone has been causing PL teams all sorts of headaches since his first appearance.

This public battle needs to stop though, end of. I suspect that Tan is well aware of how badly the fans currently think of him though, and I can't help but think from this statement that he suspects that Malky is trying to shift more hate his way if January signings don't come in.

Can't believe how some fans have been sucked in by Tan and still support him! He changes the colour of our strip, he changes our badge, Sacks one if not the most successfull managers backroom staff, continuously coming out in the press being disrespectful to supporter and his empolyees.Continously brings our club into disrepute yet still people on here say " they can't see what tans done wrong" This overspend is clearly just an excuse why wasn't the questions asked when the money was being sent! Ian moody or malky would have had to have some authorisation from above to spend the money! Wake up people he needs to go asap!

my thoughts entirely, he didn't mention about raising funds by trying to ship some out. just I want I want and given list to chairman. bit cheeky indeed if this was the first tan heard of it - in the media
