Irrelevant. Fans still moaned and groaned about signing him for the future, it's gone quiet now he's performing. I think it will be the same with Cornelius.
Of course its relevant when we are screaming out for a decent striker and the money has been blown on someone who is not ready.
He said he's one for the future, the future could mean this weekend. He's easing the pressure on the boy as with our 'expectations' of some fans, they expect him to score a hat-trick on his first start. He's being diplomatic.

not you,the fella who seems to think im suddenly going to label people pro red etc who don't agree with me
he seems to want to blow bubbles up your arse if anything
So me then. I wasn't necessarily talking about you I am talking about genuine quotes from Cardiff fans who have said exactly what I said in my original post.
I'm not blowing bubbles up Polo's arse it happens that I agree with him on this point. I also worry that Malky is not very good at buying players. However now his chief scout has gone it might be that he gets better. I actually like Malky however I think that he is limited to one style. Those that say it's cos we in the premiership and fighting against better teams ignore it was the same style he played when winning the championship. He deserves a chance to push us on though.

Well I'm blowing bubbles up Polo's arse! Pheeeeeeeeew! Hope he enjoyed it! But he's definitely wrong on one thing: how can you comment on Cornelius when no'ones seen him play for more than 5 minutes! The guy is a Danish international for Christ sake and he deserves more respect from Malky. I think this guy is no Velikonja and the reason Malky won't sign him is political. Come on; we're Cardiff City not Man Utd. we don't spend 7.5-8m on "a player for the future" and keep him on the bench and not play for the Development side: this stinks of being a sly political game and not for the benefit of Cardiff City.

Easy! If he's not Premier qualty he don't take up valuable space on the bench; he either goes out on loan or is put in the Development side. And he would usually cost between £1-1.5m tops, NOT £7.5-8m! Malky's taking the piss with this one - but he's been found out!

Can you explain please how malky isn't good at buying players? Calker and medel have been outt standing, caterine has been a great buy. Campbell just doesn't have the service but remember he scored a load of goals that got us promoted?

What I don't get is why would Malky make a signing for the future when his job was always going to be under scrutiny in the relegation fight we are in (this is not because I think we are playing poorly, but we were never going to be clear of relegation anyway)
I think Malky should be here if he is keeping us above the relegation zone, but sometimes I think he can make the wrong decision when it seems a bit obvious
Re-sign McCormack in January???

Nubbsy how do you know Tan didn't buy Caulker, Medel and KTC? Maybe Malky signed the tea lady!

Jordan Rhodes - Would have been ready

You'll probably find it's called very good man management by Malky not heaping a load of pressure on the young lads shoulders, so I take my hat off to our manager putting the player before himself.

Tan only buys the shit ones Malky buys the good ones.

I think buying for the future is great, but when we need striking options cos we are going up.why spend out over 10mil on
players your not going to use like Andreas & of course we then have John Brayford , at 1.5mil.
I must be honest and say If I was Tan ,and some one spent 10mil of my money on players we were not going to use,I would be pretty pissed off too.

Cornelius might turn into the best player in Europe. However, I genuinely don't know why we are investing 8milion for the future when our future will be determined this season.
I would have spent the money on a proven player. We can't afford to invest nearly a third of our budget on players with potential. We need players who can deliver now.
Personally, I think Cornelius is good enough now and should be getting 20 minutes each game. That's the only way to improve.
Mon Dec 16, 2013 11:28 am
Just thinking more about this - I'm sure Malky was thrilled when signing him because "Europes top clubs" were chasing him.
I just don't know what to think anymore with Malky and some of his very strange comments about players like Velikonja when he was signed, Brayford when he was signed, signing Simon Lappin, this Cornelius signing, Kenny Millers exit from club without a word and the latest situation with Bellamy..... Very strange decisions and comments that he's never really been challenged on.

Oh and the Mcnaughton contract extension when there was blatantly no expectation of him playing for us when he signs Brayford a month later, plays Connolly at RB at West Ham then ditches all of them for Theophile-Catherine?
Some big money wasted regularly

You have to name a 25 man squad and if you look outside of our starting 11 and our bench, there aren't really many that can come in and perform to the required level!
So some of the names you've mentioned were signed or given contract extentions as cover and in Brayford's case, he was probably signed with a starting position in mind, but when KTC became available, we went for him as well!

Hasn't malky been taken out of context? He's saying because of injuries ect he's not up to speed? Having said that he needs to come on before 85 min if he's to do so by Xmas! Malky is right it's not easy coming to premier for cornelious, rather have him ready for run in than struggle to adapt and be unless to us, after all not doing too bad at moment are we?

Well its only the win that put us up where we are now, I dont think you can say 5 wins from ( Ithink it is ) 21 games is all that good. and most of them wins is with just 1 goal.
Mon Dec 16, 2013 4:29 pm
He'll wait to give him his chance, he'll play badly and that will be that.
If he's not going to play against WBA, he won't play against anyone.
Any other club would have played him more. Arsenal were playing Yaya Sanogo at the start of the season.

What nonsense! McNaughton can cover the whole back 4 and is a back up of the back ups. Connolly is a centre back doing a job at right back when necessary. Brayford was signed to compete with Connolly, but Theo became available and with Connolly's natural position being centre back, it made sense to have Brayford and Theo as the natural right backs. We now have a good balance of Taylor and John as left backs, Turner, Caulker, Hudson and Connolly as centre backs and Theo and Brayford at right backs. That's 2 players competing for each individual position with McNaughton able to back these up and cover the whole back 4 if we have an injury crisis. Makes perfect sense to me!

The fact that Malkey brought on Maynard instead of Corneliis as the last substitute against WBA is a complete and utter mystery.
Scenario : 10 minutes left and we wanted a player to
1=hold the ball up to relieve pressure And
2-Chase and close down defenders And (maybe)
3-get on the end of a cross or long ball out of defence.
We didnt need to have Drogba on the bench to achieve that!!
We bring on a player in Maynard worth max £1 million and that no top teams are interested in signing. If he was Welsh he'd struggle to get in the Wales team (rank 72nd).
We leave on the bench a Danish international (Denmark ranked world 25th best team), and worth up to £7 million and who many clubs (apparently) wanted to buy.
By not playing Cornelius Malkey is making it more difficult since fans are doubting the lad before he has a chance. No doubt he is a raw talent and in some games he'll make mistakes - but so do all the rest of our players!! DO Maynard and Odemwhinge strike fear into Premier league defences??? Total mystery END OF

Paying 8 million on someone then dropping him on the bench. It's okay if we go down and he never gets a start or a run of games then what?
