CAn't work that one out...I was one of the many who applauded Peter Beardsley and would be applauding Giggs if I was at the game (but working away)...
Applaud or don't applaud but dont make out the guy has done nothing for Wales - just look at how many people he inspired to work hard (Gareth Bale to name one!!)

We have no reason to applaud Giggs. He is a football and Manchester United legend but he is not a Wales legend and he has no connection to CCFC at all.

Not a Welsh legend, he carries some Welsh sides on his own, whilst getting kicked to death at times. If the most decorated Welshman isn't a Welsh legend, then God help.who.is,

Yes but that does not take away that he's a legend. He's probably one of the most highly decorated players in any of the top Euro leagues.

After carrying wales in alot of games. Being the only class in a red shirt, being mile ahead in his head and in skill of his team mates he is most definitely a Welsh legend. From those I watched he's up with Southall, rush, speed and Hughes.

It's not idiotic though is it? Giggs would have probably got 100 caps if he played the majority of games. He only played for us when he felt like and his performances consisted of a little run down the wing, a lot of foot wavering followed by a poor cross. Obviously he actually tried for Man Utd and that's why he's been the player he has at club level for the past 20 plus years, although you could argue being in the best team surrounded by good players made him look better than we think he is?

Turned his back on Wales yet played over 50 games. He never really turned his back on Wales did he? If he did he wouldn't have played a game and chose a different country to play for.

How do you know it was his choice to duck a few friendlies here and there? for all we know fergie could of had a lot to do with why he didn't play a few friendlies, people are going on like he played once for wales and then said f**k that! How do you know it was his choice to duck a few friendlies here and there? for all we know fergie could of had a lot to do with why he didn't play a few friendlies, people are going on like he played once for wales and then said f**k that! He was obviously proud to play for wales otherwise he wouldn't have over 60 caps.
I was wondering when this excuse would crop up. Fergie being blamed for Giggs not being allowed to play friendlies for Wales!
