Irresponsible? How exactly?

Do you really think Tan is willing to give dialogue? He won't even talk to Malky FFS !

The club aren't interested in dialogue.. This is clear enough after they switched the lights off the protest (which backfired as it gave the protest more coverage than it probably deserved!)

Because yesterday should have been all about the result. Is anyone actually trying dialogue BU to me just looks to antagonise

How would you suggest BU go about setting up an audience with Tan? It's not going to happen.

Fair enough. I think it's pathetic when people just lay back and let a tan do whatever he wants to this club.

Sunday was hardly a "full on assault." Admittedly, I wasn't at the game, as I haven't attended a match since the rebrand, but from what I've seen and heard there was a small number of protesters who, without breaking the law, made their feelings known. Luckily we live in a democracy, so peaceful protest is legal and totally acceptable. Very unlike the part of the world where Mr Tan hails from...Surely, you are not suggesting that peaceful protest should be outlawed?? Why exactly was it "irresponsible?" "Self gratifying" and "pretty pathetic?"

I happen to have met some of those people who protested, one of the ladies has family that have attended games at Cardiff City since the club's earliest days. The lady in question feels that the total lack of respect that Vincent Tan has shown to Cardiff City's heritage is an act of vandalism.

I tend to agree with her, as my own family's connections to the club span almost ninety years. Cardiff City's blue and bluebird are as intrinsically linked to the City of Cardiff as the docks, Brains Brewery and City Hall. To argue otherwise is fatuous and a bit disingenuous,

With respect to you Nathan (I presume that's your name) the sight of fans walking around in red rebrand gear is something I regard as pretty insulting, given that I felt compelled to break my own family's connection of supporting the club after such a long period of time - as I refused to bow down to, what I felt was, Tan's intimidation and refused to fund his bastardisation of such an important South Wales institution.

In all sincerity, I ask you and others like you to think long and hard before you wear your red gear to games. I accept that to you and others, it is just wearing the colours that the team now wear but to the majority (in my opinion) of Cardiff City supporters, yourself and others are trampling on your own club's traditional identity.

Just think about it, that's all

But also be fair. With the insults and abuse I've had in this thread, can you freaky blame him. Perhaps of all debated as intelligently as Alfie has then you might have a point. But when the usual city fan reckons saying FACT, end of or ffs makes their point more valid then I don't blame him to a large degree.

 he won't meet BU because Natman got abused on the forum...

He won't meet the trust... & as I say, he won't meet Malky. He's not willing to meet anyone or compromise or even listen to anyone else... Hence BU using this method to get their opinions across... As is their right within the laws of this country.

It makes no difference what approach is taken, sadly. Generally, I have tried not to resort to abuse ( and often failed, tbh...) but trust me, as well as lots of heart warming support, I've received more vicious and vile personal abuse in the past year and a half than I've encountered in a lifetime. Ridiculously, I've even had friendships that have been ruined over this rebrand nonsense. Ultimately, there is only one man at the root of this problem and it's the man that you keep on defending. None of us asked for this situation.

I genuinely think that you are hugely wide of the mark when it comes to Bluebirds Unite. I interviewed Sian Branson for an article that I wrote for Huff Post. I was hugely impressed that this diminutive but dynamic and driven woman has been brave enough to put her head above the parapet and subject herself to unimaginable abuse. She has a great career going on as a senior HR manager with a big national company and she certainly doesn't need the hassle so why does she front BU? Is it because she has a big ego? Does she do it because she wants to be famous?

I've subsequently got to know Sian and others involved with BU and I'll tell you exactly why she does it, she has a huge sense of pride in her home City and it's traditions and she has a very well developed sense of community. A sense that small things, like parts of working class Cardiff culture should be passed down through the generations. A sense that the local football club is a pivotal and hugely important part of the community. Something that should be cherished and not simply used as a rich mans play thing. If all of that is alien to you, then further debate is futile. If, on the other hand, some of that resonates, rather than simply making misplaced assumptions, I suggest that you get along to one of BU's events. I'll even buy you a pint and some pork scratchings :D

Do the reason people make this stuff come from wanting to look good on this message board where a lot of this vocal minority reside is it to put some soon to try and sway more people or is it just out of delusion?

Today was great, why did BU have to try and spoil it????
