The current board since they took over have not put a foot wrong and have learned from the mistakes and incompetence of previous owners
Imagine if your club could do that instead of blindly wandering from one farce to another :thumbright:

Swansea City is still tainted by the past problems whoever the board is. fact is the CURRENT board were the ones who had the CVA, research it and you'll see that was the truth. The same names. Now they were in fairness getting rid of debts they inherited and maybe that is good business, although many would disagree with the fairness of it, it's not illegal.

But our boards have never done that and as a result we have had to live with an ever increasing debt as successive owners/directors have gambled in order to get to the top level in the hope that will negate the debt.

Given our assets are now a £50-£60m stadium and players worth tens of millions then at least now the assets at our club are close to the current debts, which again in fairness are all owed to the owner.

So, yes we've had to swallow some sh1t to get where we are, but is it more honourable than renaging on your debts ? Arguable.

Also the reality is, it's got pretty much f-all to do with us as fans anyway, as there's bollox all we can do about it.

Oh go on then I'll bite! Your stadium may have cost £50-£60m to build and is listed on the clubs balance sheet as an asset of the cost to build, but it is in reality worth nothing more than the ground it is built on! :thumbright:

So, how was I wrong. The asset is shown on the books at £50-£60m. I didn't mention anything about selling it - there could be a dozen differnet valuations then depending on what the situation is when it gets sold...

Bony will be shown at £12m on yours, Velikonja at £2m on ours, doesn't mean anyone will pay that for them.

On the flip side the debt to Tan's owed, maybe 100m , doesn't mean he'll get £100m does it - he's just written £5m off.

If we are discussing the finances then it's the feckin accounts that matter.

Not strictly true. The value of the cost of acquisition is spread over the length of the contract. e.g Bony will show as £3m (plus any additional cost associated with the signing) for the next 4 years.

No he won't. The discussion was about asset values shown in the books. His asset value will show in your books at £12m and drop down to £9m at the end of the year (unless the depreicaiton is calculated monthly in which case it will go down £250k per month). The £3m you state is the depreciation which will be shown on the P and L.

What I said was ABSOLUTELY 100% true.

You have got this one very wrong. You need to stay behind for detention and write 100 times. 'I must learn the difference between book value and depreciation' :laughing6:

Thats a great spin on things I must say! Surely you can't deny that when you originally made the statement you were implying that your debts and assets were more or less the same? So your now obviously contracting yourself aren't you? As the debt is say £100m (your quote), and your true saleable assets fall way way short of that don't they? It matters not who the debt is owed to who or if they will get their money back, though what does seem frightening is that none of it is seems too concern you at all! Never mind eh? I'm sure the Singapore stock exchange will sort it all out for you, and the good ship Cardiff City will sail on happily into the sunset! :laughing6:

Also of course, your last statement of Tan not getting all his money back totally goes against the grain of your original post regarding our CVA! If new owners were too come into your club surely Tan should get all of his money back? All £100m (your quote) of it, Or surely your club will be tainted, just like we are in your eyes because we weren't able to pay our £1.6m debt in full! :laughing6:

Swansea city football club are the best run club ever then, shame you forget your past so quickly

The same names. christ, first derby in the PL and we're in melt-down.

some facts
1. sanwaes (sorry, could never type) are in the PL
2. Cardiff are also in the PL
3. sneansew are also in the ropey league
4. Cardiff play in colours we don't want
5. Cardiff have an owner who's ripped off his tits and is waving his willy around for five minutes
6. Cardiff have an owner who will get bored and will sell to an equally deluded sort, but will turn us back to blue to get an early win with the fans
7. eaesaswn will always be fighting for wales's second team title with kewnty
8. asneanwa fill their ground when liverpool or man utd are in town. Whay! we are premier league.
9. Cardiff will always be everyone's favourite Welsh team - whatever this Snaselona nonsense is - we had, have & always will have the credibility with the main boys in these isles - and if I hear that den haag drivel one more time ....
10. The ditch that is the vetch field can now facilitate up to 40 caravans. Whoo-hoo!!!!

I don't think it shows on the accounts that they ripped off the guy who took them from obscurity to the championship, or indeed that it would be ok to now rip off the man who paid their debts to HMRC etc and then took them to the premier league! So I guess in their eyes they hold the moral ground! :laughing6:
