We are talking about now, not before. And canas is playing better as the stats show. Just as the stats show Benteke playing better than torres - funny that.
It's certainly true that when it comes to time sat on the bench Canas is ahead of Medel this season, then of course we shouldn't forget that Canas has also been booked twice this season as well.
Now we are only 6 games in to the season but Gary Medel has played over 100 minutes more than Canas already and I've yet to hear any pundit talking about Canas in the way they have been talking about Gary Medel.
More game time, more appreciation by the pundits and yet Roath Tragic says Canas is playing better at the moment. Hmmm
Nothing changes does it Tragic.

Oh we are back to the pundits againyou are right it seems nothing does change.
You say hes better because hes played an extra game then and ill say hes not because canas tackles more often, more successfully, makes more key passes, more defensive blocks and interceptions and more key passes.
Looks like we have got some common ground after all

Nope, read it but didnt really think it needed a reply.
You said stats can be interpreted differently. I disagree in this instance. I think Canas has contributed the same if not more to Swansea in terms of performance as Medel has to Cardiff... Im yet to see or read anything of note that contradicts this.

You do understand in terms of player Stats a "Key Pass" is normally associated with an assist and we both know that Canas, like Medel, have no assists this season. You also don't get "Double" points for passing the ball backwards and sideways.
And as for "More defensive blocks" well he was certainly watching on admiring Ramsey scoring last night. If your not sure he is the player with 21 and Canas on his shirt.

I didnt mention the word double![]()
A key pass does mot mean an assist at all, it could be a threaded throughball for Michu who lays it across for Bony to score for example. Making up definitions isnt a good base for a debate.
Medel watched as Ruiz scored too... Your point? Its a fact he makes more successful blocks than medel per game, this is not an opinion buy a fact. Next?

The thing is about Canas watching on whilst Ramsey walks through to score is that the player you say is playing SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO well at the moment is only looking on as the current highest rated midfield player in the PL walks through to score. What happened did Laudrup not explain his job to him properlyMaybe he should try drawing him a picture because he looks totally lost in that photograph. Would Medel have stopped him scoring, I don't know, but from what I have seen of Medel he would have been a lot closer and not stood still watching on.
im not saying hes playing soooooooooooo well. I said hes doing no less than Medel, which is a fact not an opinion. I dont think canas could have stopped Ramsey and I dont think Medel could have, arsenal had many players to pick up, theres only one of him![]()
You have a very odd "tone" to your posts. Maybe a bit of sensible debate would be better suited rather than this nonsense. Now then, tell me, what do you think Medel has done, in terms of performance, better than Canas to be worthy of the £11m price tag?

Gee let me think! How about anything that can't be expressed as a number or a percentage?! This is not a reference to the player comparison you have become obsessed with, but stats in general. Let's say a player gets chalked up with a missed/incomplete pass - let's say that pass was a diagonal ball that was an inch from a strikers foot that would have resulted in a clear goal scoring opportunity. That would be totally different to pass out of defence to a full back sprinting towards the half-way line, looking for a quick counter, that ends up going out for a throw in. It would also be completely different to a pass along the back four that get's missed, is picked up by an attacker and results in a shot at goal. However, all three scenarios are simply counted as a missed pass.
I'd be happy with the first two scenarios as they are positive actions, despite being negative stats! Without watching every action the player has made that contributed towards those stats, you are just looking at numbers!
How about the statistic of points accrued so far this season? We have more than Man Utd, without taking anything else into consideration, does that make us the better team? I don't think so because I'm not an idiot and realise that there are many other factors to take into consideration!

In your opinion if course.
I dont consider myself an expert on many things, football i do however. You trust your life with a doctor who has studies for a paltry 8 years. Football has been an area i have studied for the best part of 35 years - 4 and a half times more than the minimum requirement of a doctor you trust with your life.
Your goals in life may be to get things printed, mine arent. I have very successful businesses as many know here.
And you dont have to be an expert to get things printed or published, is carl an expert on football

yes your posting style is very feminine and very young "soooooooooooo" and such like. And not forgetting the play ground insults![]()
The thing is with stats it will always depend which set you look at and when you try to compare individual players against one another, things like what teams have each players club played after only 6 games and has each player faced players of the same or similar ability. That's why when trying to make a like for like comparison it's far better to wait until later in the season.
my stats are not final and are to run over the course of the season. Its quite funny that the only reason people are kicking uo a fuss is because currently it favours Canas![]()
It will be interesting to see how the official PL player performance stats are published tomorrow to see how each players is doing.
so now its interesting, yet in the last paragraph they werent as its too early?
My guess is that there will be little between each player which let's face it, with thier respective roles, is pretty much what you would expect.
and what is my entire point
Of greater interest, in my opinion, is the respective value of each player to thier clubs. I don't think there is a stat anywhere which will quantify that one but right now Cardiff don't have a free scoring forward and right now Gary Medel influence on the team cannot be overstated.
likewise britton and canas, when one doesnt play we are half the side. They are key to us performing how we do.
That's what most Bluebird fans believe that his quality, pedigree, leadership, organisational ability and sheer determination make him an absolute "X Factor" player for us. And you don't have to score goals to be considered an X Factor player in my opinion and from what I've seen of Swansea this season Canas is not an X Factor player in that squad.
i havent denied that. I do question this leadership and organisational thing though, he doesnt even soeak the same language. Hes a good player, never stated otherwise, i just dont believe he is £11m better or even better at all than Canas.
