So he must agree with Steve then about respecting people's thoughts on colours...
of course, also respect to people who wear red,it cuts both ways.
I respect people's right to a view and an opinion on the rebrand, but cannot respect those who wear red.
You don't have to that's your choice, same as it's someone's choice to wear any colour they like.
Exactly. Like I said, respect everyone's right to a view point & opinion but we don't have to respect that opinion & I cannot fathom why anyone would ever wear red rebrand shirts. Each to their own though.

The statement says a club is its badge and its colours which a visit to this site will show for the majority of its history the club had no badge on its shirt so does that mean we weren't a club for that period. The definition is too narrow and excludes the fans and the servants and players. The bluebird appeared in 58 and then had a 10 year holiday so were we any less a club during that period which included a trip to Div 1.
I respect people's thoughts on colours but lets please get the facts on history right

' Statement from Bluebirds Unite '
A group formed for it's members Bluebirds Unite
Run by volunteers who believe that Cardiff City FC & it's
History- Identity & Pride along with tradition are worth fighting for.
For those who want to see Cardiff City FC
The capital city of Wales Football Team being represented as we have for over a 100 years!
Playing in Blue at Home Representing our rightful nickname The Bluebirds.
Our crest should resemble our Identity with a predominant Bluebird in place.
It took more than a centuries struggle for the club to come from grass roots & climb the ranks of football
We wanted to see Cardiff City Fc in the Premiership !
Not just the Premiership in Cardiff....
Over a hundred years of history and heritage is being eradicated to make way for a new product.
A club IS it's Badge and Colours, Whatever position we are in that is what you hold on to and support.
Players, Managers, even Owners - Come and go but our Identity that we love and follow should always remain.
It is the Glue that binds a Club together.
We need to show how much our identity means before the club we loved is a thing of the past.......
Please do not join this group if you do not agree with the sentiment
Try to monitor your language, this group should be something all members can enjoy.

Their excuse is the "red or dead" myth.
That was clearly just a guise to excuse their lack of balls and wanting to merely see prem football.
If it was purely down to the "red or dead" then the badge would not be tolerated, the name change wouldnt be tolerated etc etc but each action draws a new line in the sand.
"If he changes our colours im out"
*colour gets changed*
"Okay but if he touches the bluebird im out"
*bluebird gets shrunk*
"Okay but if the badge is altered too much, im gone"
*big beermat with a dragon gets placed on the chest*
"Okay but if he changes our nickname ill be gone"
*a clear push to be called the dragons by Tan*
"Okay but if the stadium turns red im gone"
*stadium is red everywhere with plans for extra red seats"
"Okay im out if he changed the name"
*says hes thinking about changing the name*
"As long as he leaves the cardiff bit then its ok"
Each time a bit more gets taken away and is stood by and watched all due to wanting prem football, nothing to do with red or dead. It makes me laugh when cardiffs support is bigged up by themselves when they have allowed this to happen and continue to let this happen. Genuinely believe the only fans to react this way in britain would be cardiff fans, maybe tan knew and is cleverer than i gave him credit for

Sian Branson is on a power trip as mentioned in previous in this thread, she started off well, being a low key name with no proper big named fans backing until Annis and Carl came along, bit strange how Annis stopped going to a few meetings, not for him was it? I suspect my post may be taken down but we all know Annis' stance on the rebrand etc yet he won't back the nearest thing that opposes the re-brand or in their terms(shows respect for our heritage & tradition) when we clearly know that it opposes the re-brand and expects everything their way. Sian Branson has received all this coverage and is now making out that it is BU against the world, bit like a David vs Goliath story really. Her statements are dare say amateurish, pathetic and downright idiotic to say the least. A march for the blue done nothing for the cause, yeah it made BBC News for a bit but not enough to say that a lot of people protested/part took in the march. Sian Branson will fail in the end. The ideas are amateurish and she keeps singling out the people who she needs the most to join them as 'sellouts' and 'plastics'.

I agree to disagree, Annis is quick to jump at the gun and shit stir, example being when he visited the training ground and saw training tops(which had been in the public domain for quite a few months) with a full red badge on and started spreading rumours in such an important time in our season was some what childish to say the least. Barry Chuckles is very opinionated and repetitive to say the least, he provides a good debate but you can almost predict what he is going to say each thread with petty remarks, he does provide good points at times though.

The reasons Bluebirds Unite will fail are simple.
1) Lack Of Control - too many idiots clinging on to the group and bringing it down with idiotic actions/words
2) Weak Stance - their true stance is not strong enough as only getting Tan out will get blue back yet they refuse to fight for that because they know plenty of Bluebirds Unite (the fair weather faithful we'll call them) would jump ship as most of them still want Tan around but to be blue which is never going to happen as he has said already himself - unrealistic targets - he even said 'at home we'll always be red'
3) Delusion - they live in their own bubble where they think most fans agree with them but most fans don't which is proven by the percentage of the petition in real terms to the overall fan base. Most are happy to just have a club to support. Another proof of their delusion is them thinking they can educate Tan, a billionaire businessman who has fought to the top to earn his wealth in a tough marketplace which is emerging all the time (China, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, HK) and has strong economic competition, about the identity of the club as if this guy doesn't know and hasn't done his research on his investment - are they unaware of investment portfolios and checks done by investors? Tan would have had a risk analysis (financial) done for crying out loud. He can't be educated because he doesn't really care and he's putting Chinese culture before the local values and wants.
They are quite simply living in cloud cuckoo land.

Agreed. The real irony is that the group would have stood a much better chance with one of those two lads as leader.
You are right that this Branson does seem like some sort of tin-pot Napoleon, drunk on power.
Why marginalise the very people you need to be successful by accusing them of being plastics? It makes no sense. Especially when you consider she doesn't even go to away games.
Honestly, they'd be better off even with Chuckles as Grand Master. At least he can string two semi- coherent sentences together.

I feel the Cardiff fan base as a whole never had a chance, Annis is too caught up in a hooligan stereotype by Cardiff fans who don't know him like his close friends, most Cardiff fans nowadays won't know who he is unless they're an internet fan who reads the MBs, social media websites and even then some still don't even know. Say Annis was the force behind it, only a certain crowd would follow and back him which would be his close friends and former members of 'The Soul Crew', no Cardiff fans who knew Annis properly but weren't a close mate would back him because of his past.
What the BU needed was a male/female without a power trip going on, all the leader needed was strong firm ideas which didn't single out and give such sweeping statements and generalising fans and putting them into sections. BU is tarnished by either former hooligans, wannabe hooligans(the so called youth culture of casuals) etc.
Sian never really listened to the people, she listened to her own ideas and liked the sound of her own voice. She never took on anyone elses ideas and never thought outside the box to appeal to all stereotypes of Cardiff fans who want to return back to blue.

Any fan that wears the red in the stadium loves it. Simple as that. Would you wear something you didn't like? If so then you are a weaker person than I thought. If I don't like something I wouldn't wear it.

Barry Chuckle wrote:Some people may be bored of my rants regarding the rebrand, well I'm sorry if you feel that way. It won't stop me, however - it's a subject I feel very strongly about.
Personally, I'd rather be known as someone who bleats on about something, but at least is consistent in that bleating. I can't understand the mentality of someone like Barnett, who one minute is totally loving rebrand and telling everyone about the rise of the red dragon & then the next, attempting to set up a "group to restore tradition" as found here :-
viewtopic.php?t=120946
That's not a dig either, I'm genuinely interested.. Is it just trolling & looking for bites? If so, pretty pathetic.
BU have done some things incorrectly & they've made some silly comments, but as far as I can see, they are BY FAR the most successful group to put up any resistance to the rebrand so far, I should I know, I attempted & failed to set up a similar group myself. At the moment, if you want to see a return to CCFC rightful colours, BU appear to be the strongest way of doing so. I wish they would make their FB group far more moderated & I wish that some Press Releases would get checked over before they are released, but they are the best so far.
What I have found rather disturbing is the constant slating Sian gets from certain members on this forum regarding where she supports the club & what games she goes to. If she doesn't go to any games, she's not a proper Cardiff fan & has turned her back in the club... If she goes to all the games, then she's a hypocrite (something that has been aimed at myself on many occasion too) & the truth is, no anti-rebrand fan can in, as there is a "stick" to beat the fan with, whatever stance they take. Heck there's even a member on here who posts where she is watching games & slates her for it and stuff and that too me is a little creepy.
Many are also far too quick to slate BU unfairly too. Many were (quite rightly) cross with BU for calling The club "Cardiff City Bluebirds" - last weekend, Tan jokes about thinking about renaming the club & these people are suddenly saying its fine for him to do so... Despite slating BU for mistakenly doing it, not long before. Hypocrisy at its finest & a good example of some of the unfair treatment BU gets (in my mind!)
I've tried to be as objective as possible whilst writing this & that's tricky for someone with a very biased opinion, which I have.
What it boils down to though, for me is that if you are against the rebrand, join BU. They aren't perfect, help them become perfect.
If you are quite happy with the rebrandV that's fine.. You aren't the fan that BU are looking for to join up. Make sure that you respect BU members right to an opinion though, just like BU members should respect any "pro-rebrand" fans right to that opinion too.
