Passing it back entices the opposition out of their positions which enables a more concise attack. Knocking it forward can lose posession easily and thus their grip of the game.

Passing the ball back can actually be more of an attacking move than passing it forward. One back to allow two forward as it were.

When seansea first got promoted swansea spent less than a third of what cardiff did. And after 5 games were on 5 points only losing to Arsenal and Man City.

You seem to forget we have had this for years. We have beaten man city, arsenal twice, chelsea, liverpool twice won a trophy and finished in the top 10 all playing football that these pundits lap up
