Makes me laugh when people say Tan is trying to windup BU.

Strange behaviour from a billionaire "owner". I would say BU are getting under his skin.

Bu do get under his skin because he considers them to be ungrateful as in one of his press interviews with the echo.
i believe he uses every opportunity to have a dig at them and the name change is one of them

Gareth, to me Cardiff City are being killed off already bit by bit by Tan, but this would be the last straw for me. It would break me, but I know Cardiff City in my heart would be finally dead.

Unfortunately changing the name to Cardiff DRAGONS will be a stroke of marketing genius, especially if we become successful and established at premier league level.
Growing up as a kid, I was a big Chicago Bulls fan,( played a lot of basketball mind) but that was down to some sort of success and marketing by the club and the NBA. If they were called Chicago city/town etc perhaps the appeal wouldn't be there.
What I am trying to say is that the premier league is now pushing its way into the American markets, with nbc sports, and the name DRAGONS would therefore become more appealing. ( but just not to us )

Sod the yanks. In a few years time they will hate soccer as they call it. We're Cardiff City the bluebirds.

I really can't believe you would want us to get relegated. Why do you bother going to matches (mind you I suspect you probably don't) if you want City to be beaten. You just can't make this up.

Unfortunately you are definitely correct in my eyes.

At the same time. If Tan was going to change it, he should have done it with the rest of the re-brand. That would have been better marketing. By doing it now, he will cause another chapter of pain and anger to those who care about the name/identity over all else. Now we are a PL side, we would have an even greater ****storm from the media too who would eat it up. Had Tan done it earlier when we were facing debt and looking closer to Championship relegation than promotion it would have been swallowed easier from a marketing point of view.

People take thing's to heart so easily, he's a troll, the slightest thing and everyone cries.

There is logic behind a possible name change. Vincent Tan is building the biggest shopping mall in the world 38km from Beijing, with a catchment of over 100m people. Inside the mall are 3 rollercoasters and or waterslides one of which will be in the shape of a big red dragon. No prizes for guessing which premier club's shirts will be on sale there if there is a name change. We could become one of the richest clubs in football if some this happens. It will still be Cardiff City, playing in Cardiff. Now if the team relocated then that would be a different ball game, but a slight change to the name, we would still chant city and bluebirds. Our history doesn't disappear just because of a change of colour or name.

f**k THAT BULLSHIT. CHANGING THE NAME IS A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME. IT WILL BE LIKE SUPPORTING A DIFFERANT TEAM. I CAN HANDLE COLOUR CHANGE BUT I SUPPORT CARDIFF CITY NOT CARDIFF DRAGONS WHO THE f**k ARE THEY

The amount of apathy to Tan's latest comments is cringeworthy. This man clearly sees this club as some sort of play thing to mould however he wants & the majority couldn't give a shit, as long as you get to watch premiership football.

The majority have managed to respect the traditions and identity of the club though, where as this loon seems to think he can just do what he wants with it.

it's hilarious and bizarre that Chuckles and many other whoppers have the audacity to criticise their own fans who allegedly only want Premier league football, who themselves watch Cardiff City in the Premier League. The hypocrisy of these buffoons is comedy gold

Yes, I still support the club - despite disagreeing with the decisions of the club. I didn't know that if you disagree with a decision, that you have to stop going... :?

In that case, when Ridsdale ripped everyone off with the Golden ticket scam, I suppose you stopped going?

Or are you just being a massive hypocrite? :laughing6:

Correct, I still go, but dont agree with the regime and I dont feel the same, but I am entitled to my views and opinions, if they become the Dragons then thats it for me, the Regime will have gone to far for me personally.

The hypocrisy is incredibly you think you're better than those who haven't been on a march or has accepted that for the time being we play in a different colour. Many of those same people including yours truly would still be following Cardiff City when we return to blue and if we dropped down the divisions, as we did for those long periods of time. The irony is, there would be a large percentage of those thousands of BU signatures who would soon turn their back on an ailing club

It works both ways Barry. Trust me, this is a fact

Re: Tan and hull city chairman's interview on sky sports new

Yes, you're right.. Your hypocrisy IS incredible. :laughing6:

I don't think I'm better for fighting against a rebrand, each to their own, I'm just flabbergasted by the apathy towards a NAME CHANGE that has been rumoured for quite some time, mainly due to Tan's interviews.

& yes I'm personally amazed regarding the apathy of the colour change and the removal of the bluebird to something of an after thought...

Like him or not, the best thing CCFC can do is keep Tan away from any cameras and microphones, every time he speaks he causes controversy.

have they?

do they care?

im not putting cubs into crippling debt is good for anyone most clubs are in this position Roman Abramovich holds a £709 million pound loan over Chelsea plc. If he ever gets bored and asks for his money back that will kill the club.

most clubs are in this position

anyway back to the point in hand as per usual your posts are spiraling out of control, I never asked you to apologise for anything, bit pathetic that attempt. Im just asking why you thought that Cardiff City would be different from every other club owned by a mega rich person.
