In fairness i don't think every thread does turn into a 'carl / annis / citygent' bashing, but as this one was about a potential transfer where it was suggested that the deal was done one minute to not getting signed the next then there was bound to be some reaction.

In all probability, this forum has become a victim of its own success. When it started there were not that many members and discussions were thin on the ground (apart from i've got some books to sell). Lately, and even more so with Premier League status, the number of people on here has grown massively, so you are bound to get some differing + argumentative opinions. These opinions may be in the minority but due to the increased number of users on the forum they will show themselves more than they previously did - just the nature of the beast.

That's not to say that people shouldn't be allowed an opinion, hopefully backed up with constructive comments. If we all went down the route of agreeing with each other then the forum would be a boring place to visit. You will learn far more about a subject with constructive debate as various sides will come to light, instead of just following a single idea like sheep, though ideally the debate must come without too much negativity and personal insults.

Why is it the majority of decent threads on this message board get turned into "Carl, Annis or City Gent is wrong again"? It's getting old this online slap fest. I spent most of my life living in Cardiff, moving to the US in '04 I really missed being down the city with the lads.... Between newsnow.co.uk and this forum - I've felt a bit more in touch with home and the banter. But to be honest the constant petty squabbles and the spin to either Blue v Red or the bashing of other members if god forbid "life" gets in the way of a transaction or two will end up destroying this forum. Thank god for Twitter and more importantly NBC for airing every City game live.....

We have always fought amongst ourselves, it took a long time for us to be conquered by the English but after it happened it has been quite easy to keep us in our place-divide and rule. Just like the unity of CCS won the game last Sunday just think what an united wales could achieve!

Revisionist claptrap peddled by the sly colonials - more castles built by the Plantagenets than anyone else, and even though they had a dodgy French surname, they were, and still are, the English.

And just to contradict myself (slightly), the Normans weren't really French anyway - their name meant the Norse or Northerners - wild bastards. No wonder they wanted to get in by here more fun than that miserable lot over by there.
