Unbelievable player... Sometimes sitting in front of back four, and sometimes just behind back four... Amazingly skilful yet strong as well... I only saw him misplace one pass all day... Did we have a translator on the bench for him? when the other were getting water I saw someone giving him instructions and as I far as I know he speaks no English really

I think it was Martyn Pert doing the touchline translation for Gary - the new head of Sport Science who was on the pre-season trip to Switzerland. He is a fluent Spanish speaker.

I'm not sure what language was being used in the first half when Gary was 'organising' Turner and Caulker, though! I guess it was Spanish or pigeon-English? Either way they seemed to understand what he was saying to them.... and definitely not arguing.
