Sinclair was a big signing for us at the time.As was Borini and Gylffi once we got promoted.They signed because they knew Rodgers.We then signed Vorm,Caulker and Neil Taylor.Not a bad few signings (loans some) but they came because of Rodgers stock in the game and wanted to play under him.It's the same now with Laudrup although our club as a whole is a far more attractive proposition nowadays, besides our manager.

I am sure in your first season promoted Rodgers and Swansea would have struggled to attract established european players / internationals for major countires.

I would put Malky and Rodgers (at time Jacks got promoted) side by side in terms of charisma and standing in the game. Both very good in front of a camera and over use of the "group" Obviously Rodgers has kicked on since with his experience managing a club like Liverpool.

Neither have the charisma or pull of Laudrup though, of that I am sure we both agree.

So no real "big" names, just a couple of kids, and Gylffi, who is hardly a big name anyway, although he did do well at Swansea, on loan.

Agree on the whole although Vorm should be in the 'big name' bracket as he is a Dutch international goalkeeper.

Working their ass off to get in players, gets a highly rated Danish striker despite clubs still trying to make a move for him when it was 99.9% done, a consistent RB, one of the best if not the best in the Football League and a highly rated young goalkeeper who was linked with a move to the biggest club in English football

Really hope we sign him! That is just the player we need! I would be surprised if he was to sign though
