Damned Yankee, I noticed and was shocked u believed them the other day when Milly made up a story that Baz was removed as a mod, due to his dislike of Sam, Thankfully Baz told the truth, 3 mods were removed for not doing any admin on here for weeks, making it unfair on those doing all the work.

The sad thing is a few people have become so jealous they just continue to make snide comments, they must have some very sad life's.

Thing is Annis, there's so much nonsense flying around with all this point scoring, you don't know what to believe! Milly always seemed credible but I guess not.

I tell you this though, the personal attacks against Curt have gone too far.

You seem far more concerned than me Keith, I wonder why that is, hoping to find that I have only been a City fan for a number of years? Is it to try and discredit me perhaps? Well unfortunately you along with others will fail.

I have only ever supported two teams, Cardiff City and Rangers.

Growing up with a Glaswegian step father, I was taken to Glasgow during school holidays and would go and watch Rangers whilst up there, I had Rangers tops bought for me as a kid as well.

The last time I watched Rangers was when I was 15 years old.

Never have I followed an English club.

I have seen claims that I was in Ninian Park for the Leeds cup game but in the away end, absolute load of tosh.

I was at home watching the game as I could not go because at the time I had two young sons who I had custody of and lived with me and they would visit their mum on weekends, as part of the court order, their mum would get access between 18.30 on a friday evening and 18.30 on Sunday, the Leeds game was played at 16.00 on the Sunday and such was the relationship between their mum and I that there was no way she would allow me to collect the children at a later time for me to attend football, had I done so I can guarantee I would have had a solicitor's letter early the following week stating I had broke the court order.

My first City game was in 1987 away to Swansea on a boxing day.

I was a father to my sons by summer 1993 and I was still only 18 yrs old myself, I would go to City games when I could afford it and/or when I did not have a football game myself.

Personally I would not have bothered to answer the stupid claims had you not created a thread as I know the truth and quite simply it is none of your business or anyone else's. I myself would be embarrassed to even ask somebody such a question.

We didn't play you on Boxing Day in 1987.

Oops, you are correct.

It was 1989 and I remember my eldest brother taking me to the game against my step fathers wishes and we turned up as the game kicked off, as we got onto the away end City fans were celebrating, I asked the first fan I met who scored and was told Roger Gibbons.

For years I believed it was the case until a few years ago when I was writing a column for the Echo, I found out it was actually Leigh Barnard but it doesn't really matter as Cardiff won. :D

Carl is Cardiff first and yes his other team is Rangers, but so what?

It was merely an example Annis .As you know , I gave others , such as on the abuse and some false accusations Sam Hammam received from some posters.

In a way this thread has proven my point. By Carl making his clear statement elsewhere in this thread , it does exactly what I suggested - putting a rumour raised without foundation by others (not me you will have noted)to bed once and for all.

What this thread has also raised for me though , on the downside ,is the frequent knee jerk reaction of you and Carl without reading or understanding posts or words in them properly. That`s why I don`t post on here as much as on Mike`s board (some may well say "thank God for that").

Keith

You gave no reference or example to anything else other than me, you can try and claim otherwise now Keith but pretty much every response in this thread has suggested the same thing - poor form on your part.

It is an embarrassing episode for you but things like this don't last too long on forums so don't feel down for too long.

This is why I say about people not reading things properly.

Look at the thread link you have put up , then read it PROPERLY. At no point do I say that Carl has never worked for the Echo "paid or otherwise" as I am well aware that he does a weekly (unpaid) column. I clearly pointed out to a poster that Carl was not a paid employee in the Media industry , as the poster concerned seemed to believe.

Now you say that my post here casts aspersions about Carl being a "proper" city fan (whatever that is - I have always believed that all fans are equal) when I have said no such thing. I merely was suggesting that Carl (like others in a similar position of having had false claims about them) could perhaps just issue a simple rebuttal to get rid of such claims once and for all. I wasn`t asking for his life history (none of my business and not interested) just proposing a simple denial to get rid of the false claims that seem to have been made with increasing volume and nastiness (by others , none by me) in recent weeks.

There is no attempt at "points scoring". Why would there be? Does anyone really think that messageboards are that important?

To cap it all , when I plead with people to read things properly before flying off the handle with their responses , I am accused of saying people are illiterate rather than what I actually said which is that they should read the posts and words properly - I did not say people couldn`t read , just that they chose not to do so properly before responding.

Honestly , trying to have a sensible debate on this board is increasingly becoming as frustrating as trying to knit fog.

A total mare for the OP surely whatever the position, every fan must have a first game whenever, i have been going a lifetime, and during that period we have been crying out to attract the "new" fan, do i look down on anyone who has come along now, do i f**k, they are all welcome, they are all needed and we need to attract a lot more if we intend to stabilise or progress.

Are they less important than fans like me, no, because without these new fans, the old dinosaurs like me would still be watching us clinging on to survival at the bottom of the pile, welcome, and thanks for coming. :ayatollah:

Don't spend any time worrying about it as its laughable that there is outrage over an issue like this when the person offended was happily calling a former director who saved this club from administration at best a back stabber and robber a couple of weeks ago.

There was no need to go into all of that detail. Re: Putting rumours to bed permanently

What Carl or any other member of this board does in their personal life or professional life is entirely up to them. Sad that this has even been brought up.

As for his allegiance, I supported other teams years and years ago but in the end I found my own way and decided I wanted to support a club that mattered to me and made me feel proud, Cardiff City. A lot of people in South Wales are influenced in terms of who they support by the grandparents, uncles and fathers who often set the trend in their families. That's personal and everyone has their reasons and do not need to justify themselves.

I wanted the club of the place I was born to do well no matter what. Whether Carl came to that conclusion earlier or later in his life than I did is not of the question, we should appreciate that he eventually decided to take interest in his home town team unlike the many others out there and you can't say its just because we're in the Premier League either. He's as valid a supporter as any of us.

Some of our fans really need to get off this elite perch.

Yes but the problem is so many think Carl is trying to be elite when he's not. He is just passing on info that he's heard and been told trying to keep others in the loop. They'd soon start crying if he said nothing. It's the self importance of some that make them feel the need to pipe up and abuse Carl.

I have not once seen Carl come on here and gloat and say 'told you so' or anything like that unless provoked to defend himself by mindless idiots trying to score points.

Yes that's right. This feeling of self importance from these snipers is ruining the board.

Carl could not have written it better himself

But why are claims that are factually untrue left unchallenged so often?

e.g.there have been a number on here claiming that Carl has been both a Leeds and a Rangers fan fairly recently before switching allegiance to Cardiff City.

Carl , why don`t you just post a clear denial of the claims so it is settled once and for all?

As the saying goes.......Hmmmmmmmmmm.....

For goodness sake? what was the point?we get it carl. you write for the echo. for maximum exposure you
should have wrote I Was Reminded Of The Goalscorer When I Was Negotiating With Langston. Truth be told
you going into to much detail here. my first game as a city fan was a couple of years previous. cant remember
when and dont care. charlton at home. the lads were chucking bench seats out of the canton stand onto the
pitch cos we were losing. i was just a kid thats the only reason i know we lost

Then stay away Keith.

I see you have stirred a hornets nest on Mikes board now with their complimentaries for Carl.Well done.

And stay away is what I will do from now on as to try and get some people to read things and understand them is a waste of time on here. An example in this very thread is Damned Yank who made a claim that I said something in another thread , posted a link to that thread which clearly shows that I had said no such thing , yet still refers to it as me being "found out". He either didn`t read his own post attachment , didn`t understand it , or did and is just mischief making.
And the "usual suspects" then just blindly follow without even bothering to read and understand what was actually said for themselves.

I haven`t been on Mike`s board for a while and certainly haven`t posted anything about Carl on there, but will visit it soon as I am interested to see what they are giving Carl for free with the "complimentaries" you are referring to
