It's an interesting one as I have been saying it on their Facebook page for a while now that they need to stop people saying dumb 'throwaway comments'. Given that VT had a couple of deaths in his family lately (one of which was a car crash?) it's stupid and disrespectful, not to mention insensitive (the accident was real - someone could have actually been hurt).

IT WILL HURT THE BU CAUSE IF THESE IDIOTS KEEP SPOUTING SHITE LIKE IT IS GOING OUT OF FASHION

Thankfully there are some sensible BU members - but the majority of Cardiff City FC fans won't join an organisation which has more than a hint of cluelessness about it.

I genuinely hope Sian and BU pull the reigns in on things like this before it gets worse.

That way you keep it about blue and keep it full of people who care and you may then attract more support and get a few like me changing their tune.

I wont be part of a group that has members calling other city fans stuff such as bastards and not true supporters, and people making comments about ANYONE being in a car crash with "lol" after it implying it is actually funny.

All members are part of the group because they all want one thing, Cardiff to return to blue. All other comments from members are irrelevant to what the group is about as it doesn't reflect what the whole group think, it reflects what that individual person thinks. Some may want Tan to leave, some may want him to stay. It doesn't matter who's part of the group or what other people think, the only point in being part of the group is because you want Cardiff to play in blue.

It's no different to being a supporter of Cardiff City in my opinion.

I'd love a return to blue.

Your wasting your time sadly fella as my mind is made up, so obviously people making them kind of comments do have a bad effect as I no longer chose to support BU.
Same thing as agreeing with a few points UKIP or BNP make but not voting for them because of the idiot element attached.

Delete the posts and remove persistent offenders..simple.

I'm not wasting my time, I don't give a shit whether you support the group or not, I'm just saying that the whole group shouldn't be tarnished with the same brush as the majority of the group are good people.

But I agree they should delete disrespectful and offensive posts and remove persistent offenders.
And who's taring them with the same brush? All I said is that it damages the group, and I'm right.

Great reasoning, let's tar everyone with the same brush. I hate Vincent Tan but also support BU. Cardiff City fans making themselves out to be whiter than white after selling the clubs soul for success haha it's laughable.

I love the way some of you paint the people sticking up for tradition as the bad people. If there was a war I can tell you who I would rather have in my corner, people who stick up for there principles and values, not sheep who will do anything for money and success.

Some of you make me sick to my stomach and embarrassed that I am a Cardiff fan.

The only part I don't understand is why you would hate VT. I can understand you hating the re-brand but that's the only thing he's done wrong!

Re: Comment on BU

I hate him for the total lack of respect he has for my views and beliefs. I don't know who he thinks he is but in this life you earn respect, he's trampled over the identity of my club and thinks I should be grateful. He is a dilusional fool.

Well you're right he hasn't earned any respect through how he handled this whole affair, maybe, just maybe Sam will eventually get him to see how to press the right buttons to get supporters to 'love him' (as SH puts it!).

Mind you thats as far as I want Sam involved :old:

Fingers crossed mate but the only thing Hammam is motivated by is money sadly. If he gets us back to blue, starts engaging with the fans and treating us like a football club not a play thing then Tan could be a legend (I won't hold my breath though)

Surely you must realise that a lot of members of BU will dislike Tan for his rebrand.. They feel strongly about it. Why are they not allowed to dislike Tan? :?

BU's stance is not Tan Out, that doesn't mean it's members aren't allowed to dislike Tan?

Let me put that argument back at you with its logical extension: Would you stop supporting Cardiff City if a faction of its fans went around routinely committing acts of murder?

The petty-mindedness of BU's campaign is best seen in relation to other potentially equally damaging campaigns that could be taken up at a moment's notice:

The Return to Ninian Park.
The removal of sponsorship from shirts.
Having players paid in pounds, shillings and pence in small brown envelopes.
Games broadcast in black and white only.
Forcing fans to attend matches in their Sunday Best.
Forcing players to live on a diet of beer and suet and style their hair using Brylcreem.
The club only buys players whose main job is working down a coal mine or in a steel mill.
Admittance only to those sporting sideburns and flares.
The club only buys players fluent in Welsh and only admit fans to the ground that do too.
The club bans smart phones from the ground.

Its easy to look good, scoring political points with certain sections of the fan-base by giving the impression that you're defending the club's traditions; some sections of the fan-base are so confused they get a kick from being a thorn in the club's hierarchy, but actually leading a club to real success is hard.

There is no more reason to support the BU cause than any of the above potential campaigns and given that they are all as equally ludicrous and destructive as each other, no Cardiff City fan should have anything to do with any of them at all.

Re: Comment on BU

factgasm if that is what you believe then you really don't understand what supporting a football club, your local club and more importantly Cardiff City is all about. It's about identifying with the club, identifying with the clubs colours, if that leaves football then we may as well all support Real Madrid and be done with it.

It's all just in your mind.

If you and your mates walked into the park tonight and spontaneously had a game of football, would it detract from your win if you weren't wearing blue?

Cardiff fans didnt sell their soul for success. Most fans just want to go to a game and keep supporting the club they've supported all their lives, what's wrong with that? Yeah we've changed colour, but it's still Cardiff City, and that's the main thing for most fans at the end of the day.

One of the reasons I support Cardiff City and not Real Madrid is because I am from Cardiff and I want to see my home city club do well. I don't associate with Cardiff City simply because of it's kit colour.

While I grew up in Cardiff, I have lived and worked much of my life over the border and endured my fair share of anglo-saxon racism in the process (the same abuse you'd be subject to, BTW). I would love nothing more than to see Cardiff City absolutely grind certain other clubs into the dirt because I know it would infuriate those who thought they could be so rude.

I don't give a toss what colour Cardiff wear, all I care about is the result: knowing that Cardiff, my club, trounced the opposition on the pitch, fair and square.

All institutions change. Just look at the House of Lords. They've practically got rid of the centuries old tradition of hereditary peers and about time too. Everything changes and provided that change brings the desired result ever closer, I'm all for it.

If you do not see winning football matches as the core reason for the club's existence, then you are wasting everyone's time, especially your own.

Throughout the centuries, the English have found it piss-easy to conquer and to oppress the Welsh - because the Welsh couldn't get their bloody act together to defeat the English.

For more than fifty years, Cardiff City languished in the lower reaches of the football league, ridiculed for their under performance. The along come a Scotsman and a Malaysian to show us the error of ours and to rearm us for the fight ahead - and what is the response of certain sections of the fan-base? The sanctimonious, self-indulgent drivel above.

I tell ya, there's one thing that the Welsh have historically been good at - and that's division among themselves. Here we stand, on the eve of entering the promised land and here some of you are acting like deluded self-appointed busy-bodies, militant little trade-unionists, hell bent on wrecking this exciting new era in the club's history even before its begun. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves for what you are doing to Cardiff City.

This club's enemies - and there are plenty of those I assure you - are absolutely pissing themselves with laughter. You BUs couldn't be doing a better job of hamstringing our club if you were a bunch of Jacks.

The real enemy isn't within the club, it's out there. It's the like of Chelsea and Arsenal, Swansea and Manchester United. They are the enemy, not anyone within the club. If you want anyone to hate, then focus your tiny little minds on our league opposition, because when they come to Cardiff, they will come in their hoards, with their best warriors and their best weapons and rest assured they will put us to the sword if they can. You want to repeat the mistakes from history?

By creating Bluebirds Unite, you are doing the very opposite of what you claim. You are not uniting the club, you are creating division within it, you are creating an us-and-them, you silly sods. Either you a Cardiff City fan, or you are not; there is no in between,no special groups and no cliques. Your only loyalty is to the club and to nothing else.

If you can't handle that, then go and support a different club.
