What you have is not a belief, it is a preference. Learn the difference.

Question: If I told you that Bertrand Russell's teapot was blue would you be more inclined to worship it?

It was an amateur team with no stadium, which also had less than 20 years history.
Hardly comparable to Cardiff Bluebirds in 2012 were they?

It's a fact which you find so inconvenient you resort to name calling. Desperate stuff.

nothing wrong with a bit of name calling is their you poof :)

Our rightful colours I said, not our original colours. Learn to read.

Our rightful colours, the one we are known for wearing, the one our nickname originates from... BLUE.

Missed your post earlier Barry I Can't Chuckle, cos you're the only one who can read on here!

Tell me who elected you to decide which colour is our rightful colour? :?

If there were people around from the 1908 era, they could argue that we should play in brown & yellow and be called Riverside FC!

Those of our newer fans who may have only seen us play in red at home, may feel that as we've entered a new era under a man who although has divided opinion, has certainly saved the club from obscurity and may prefer to claim the red as our rightful colour!

Why do retards always bring up Riverside FC colours as if it's relevant.

It's still part of our history though, which is what I thought the rebrand argument was all about?

As I asked I can't Chuckle (Who still hasn't answered btw), who elected you to decide which colour is our rightful colour? :?

It is a belief. I believe that the identity of a club is far more important than reaching the premiership.

No, because I don't link myself to a colour. My belief is that club shouldn't change their colours & rebrand. Be that red, blue, yellow or gold.

Why do the pro blues believe the rest of us are supporting red for the Premiership .
I believe most are supporting red because there is no alternative to Tan and his money . Without him we will be up the creek without a paddle

The sole purpose of the club's existence is to win football matches, everything else comes a distant second.

It is not there to provide an identity to those without one. As you clearly have a self-esteem issues, you should forget City and go see a psychiatrist and/or visit a fashion boutique instead, so that you feel more comfortable with yourself.

Associating yourself with a competitive sports club isn't helping you to overcome whatever problems you are suffering.

He could say the same to you, as you could always go and follow Haverfordwest County, as they play in blue, are nicknamed the Bluebirds, but on the downside, they're shit!

No he couldn't. I support Cardiff because they are my home town team & I have supported them since I was a kid. They represent my "home" & am immensely proud of that.

What I don't like, is this team slowly being stripped of its identity & therefore seeming a shadow of the team I grew up supporting.

It's clear Tan wanted rid of the bluebird & accepted defeat at the recent supporters trust meeting. Would you accept the loss of the bluebird? Seeing as "it's only an emblem" ?

It's not a love for a specific colour, it's a request that club owners respect the identity & traditions of a football club. You may disagree, as is your right, but there are many that feel the same, whether you like it or not.

I hate the rebrand, but the worst bit of it is not the shirt colour or the badge..

It's this type of fan that seems to have a problem with some of us wanting to see our club play in our rightful colours.

I know all you care about right now is PL football, but sorry to say, there are some who value our true identity over a season in the top flight.

Get used to it, this split amongst the fans won't be going away any time soon

We play in red, get used to it. We won't be playing in blue any time soon.

I wouldn't be too sure of that if I were you :ayatollah:

f**k me mate, you are a few shillings short of pound you. Winning is the main goal, winning in Blue is as important, it's our tradition and if you don't like it why the f**k don't you just leave. Oh and by the way, Haverfordwest are a pretty good team.

Believe it or not, the blue kit is very important to many thousands of City fans. All this success aside, which some knobends actually believe is down to the 'lucky red', the whole rebrand STILL hurts people like it happened yesterday. In fact it will hurt for the rest of their lives if the blue doesn't return.
We are ALL grateful for Mr Tan's input, but this colour and badge change is an absolute disaster in every way.
Just one question - what would happen if Liverpool's owners told their fans they'd be playing in orange instead of red?? Is it alright for us to accept it because we are less of a club?

As you've opened up your heart somewhat and not been condescending for once, I'll reply to your post respectfully!

Firstly, being originally a Rhondda boy, Cardiff is my home town team as well, but I don't believe that the club has been stripped of it's identity, as we still play at Cardiff (Unlike where Sam wanted us to play), we are still called Cardiff City and are still called the Bluebirds, which is still represented on our shirts!

My position on the colour change is that if it were put to a vote, I'd vote for blue, but am I losing any sleep over the change to red, no!

With regard to the change of badge, well we've had many different badges over the years and whilst the new one is far from my favourite, it still says Cardiff City and again I won't lose any sleep over it!

We'll have to see whether things would change if the name Cardiff City or the Bluebird disappeared, but I can't see the point in scaremongering, as it doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon!

I fully respect fans who can't come to terms with the change from blue to red or the new badge, but they should also respect the opinions of fans who are comfortable with the change(s), or those who basically couldn't give a shit!

thats fine, I do feel that though. The bluebird has also been relegated to an after thought. Be interested to see what you would think if that disappeared?

im not that bothered about a badge, but I'd like to see the bluebird represented properly, rather than clearly being an afterthought.

i do respect it & don't condone any abuse/insults for thinking that. I've been warned and abused for having my opinions & it's not on.

Most of the people I know stopped going once we left Ninian Park, the majority of the 'old' Rhondda boys haven't even been in the new ground.

Just my thoughts. :ayatollah:

I agree that the Bluebird is less prominent on the new badge, but as we're currently on a far more financially sound footing than we were before VT came in (Bit of an understatement I know), It's not something that concerns me personally so much atm, but as you said, should the nickname disappear, things could change!

With regard to the OP, yes it was initiated to mock those who feel so strongly about the change from blue to red, but if I'm being honest, I found the post, along with his other post about the shirt sponsoring, showed a great deal of humour, which I think has been greatly lacking on this message board lately (At least before I read Ankle's post about Sam's 2002ish claims regarding Swansea this morning   )!

BTW, I would have found the post(s) amusing, had they been started by somebody mocking those who are comfortable with the change to red, or those who just couldn't give a monkey's about it! :ayatollah:

Well f**k me sideways! I never thought I'd read the words "Bertrand Russell" on here. Do I smell the distinct smell of life-failure from the pseudo-intellectual who is Roath Tragic? He also likes a "teapot". I get the picture. Wrong message board sunshine. Rotten Fruit.
