Here is the latest Leader Board.

Congratulations to Aramore (Cardiff City) and ATL11 (Wigan Athletic). Apart from good scores you can see how they are benefitting from the bonus points available. The bonus points for the end of September have just been added. Also most worthy of mention are Charles stokell (Hull City), claretfromaway (Burnley) and sull (Brighton) who are all steaming away. But any in the top 50 are really doing very well indeed, and there’s a long way to go!

No surprises for me.

Fully expect to crash and burn in november though

The people doing best at the moment are those who didn't see the new Man Utd regime as working at all, those who foresaw Sunderland's problems, those who couldn't see West Ham's high placing first time back in the premier last season maintaining itself this time, and Hull's surprisingly high placing (well, at least if you consider that they along with Palace were the two relegation favourites by some 90% of fans doing this prediction game!). But obviously, some of these surprises' will probably iron themselves out, so those who made wild guesses and are at present enjoying glory may well be pulled back come another month into the season!

I hope that gives some comfort ...

The International Break meant that there was no rush to get this up, but even so, I’ve got a bit behind! Here is a comprehensive INTER-FORUM update.

And so to the The Inter-Forums table. First thing to notice is that we have added the September deduction points for the best placings off your score. But this we do only at the end of each month, and sometimes it just don’t tie up with your progress. For example, the Posh Forum were doing very well, but frankly had a bad week last time so they are now a long way off picking up bonus points! Also, bad news for all of us, I’d say, is the strong showing by the MEDIA & COMMUNICATION people – these are the chaps who are in theory the ‘experts’ (TV punters, newspaper writers etc.) so it’s always very nice to be able to shot down the Lawros of this world – but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that.
And so, it’s now MERSEYSIDE leading the way! Both the Liverpool FC Forum (Liverpool) and the Toffee Talk (Everton) have taken the best possible use of the bonus points and are now nicely in the top three. But shared with Everton, we have the Not 606 Norwich board (who have really taken advantage of most bonus points of anyone - congrats), Swansea’s Planet Swans and a little behind with the Cardiff City forum (so Wales also shining very strongly). Barnsley, Burnley, Hemel Hempstead (dark horses, guys, did excellently last season), Talk of the Terraces, The Toon Forum, and the Ex-Men forum make up the big first dozen. Nice to see TOTT going much stronger after a rather poor start. I’ve not heard much from the Ex-Men forum of late, but they should be pleased …
Sorry to all those at the A – Block (Forest), but as you all know these placings will continue to go up and down until well after Christmas, when we really know much better how the season is likely to turn out!!

And here are the new inter forum updates. CARDIFF now take over at the top, followed by Swansea – what a stern competition the Welsh fans are putting up. Both sides have opened up a little gap from the chasing sites at Everton, Liverpool, Norwich, Newcastle (Toon Forum) Brighton, Hemel Hempstead and Spurs. From there on it’s all pretty much packed up together. All the bottom scores have improved, with the result that Watford, Sunderland and Blackburn no occupy the ‘relegation’ spots. But only 4 points separate the bottom 13 fan sites, so anything can still happen …

GENERAL UPDATES – 26th November 2013


Well, it was to have been a big general update, but I’m sorry to say that has had to be put back just one week. Next week you’ll have – promised - all the entrants and updates for your own board, and it will have all the November bonus points taken into account too, but just for one week more I’m giving you the Inter-Forum competition part, and a list of the top 100 or so from the national individual lists.

We are active behind the scenes. There are always little changes going on which you probably don’t see, but that do take time up. I’d like to point out that recently we have two different things to take into account which slightly affect the Premier Positions Game:

1) We have merged the two West Bromwich Albion boards – namely the BaggiesZone with the WBAZone – seeing as the second of these is currently a couple of months down, but many members post on the two sites. They are agreed, so it was a sensible option.
2) The TOTT (Talk of the Terrace) has been ‘taken over’ as it were, or superseded by “Football Lounge”. The ‘new’ forum can be found here: http://www.footballlounge.net/forum.php and if you don’t please consider it spam I’d really suggest a look in, as the ideals of this site promise a lot, trying to attract a mature or intelligent kind of poster and where WUM/troll stuff will be carefully controlled. It’s your choice of course, but would be fantastic to see a few of you onboard. I’m contributing there quite a bit, to see if it can take off.


And so to this week then. Firstly the FORUMS game.

What’s different? Well, in the Welsh battle, Swansea’s “Planet Swans” have knocked the Cardiff City Forum off the top, despite Cardiff’s good result against Man Utd. But both Merseyside forums – Everton’s Toffee Talk and the Liverpool FC Forum have moved up and are seriously knocking at the door.
Norwich stay right up there too, thanks to their incredible number of previous bonus points. Most of the higher placed forums – such as those from Burnley, Newcastle, Spurs, Hemel Hempstead and Barnsley continue to maintain their forum. I’d specially like to mention though the Ex-Men Forum (a chance conversation led to their initial inclusion) and Blackpool’s Back Henry Street forum (a great forum, so many mates on there!) who I believe are up to their highest placings all season so far … well done.
There are no great impacts coming at present from the lower placed forums, and that includes the two organizing forums from Sunderland and Reading. At least you’ll know we’re honest, ha-ha!!

POSITIONS AS AT 15th January 2013 – hardly any changes of note! Biggest change during last couple of months is the upsurge in fortunes of the Blackpool forum, coming up from the mid-twenties to nearly the first dozen! Sorry that Donny has made a turn for the worse!! As the real league position positions change so will both the individual and forum positions – for a simple example, lots of people initially had Sunderland about mid-table; so if they do indeed start to move out of relegation (recent form definitely on the up it would seem) then those people will pick up points whilst others will lose them. Still very much to play for!!

POSITIONS AS AT 22nd January 2014 – Biggest news is that Norwich (Not 606) have come up right alongside Swansea’s Planet Swans, and have interrupted the Welsh domination of late! Newcastle’s The Toon Forum are also proving fierce competitors for the overall forum title too. Most of the usual suspects are well up there now, as positions are changing rather less than the beginning of the season. Both Merseysiders – The Liverpool FC Forum and Everton’s Toffee Talk – are formidable opponents this season, always up in the prizewinning areas!
Other forums – such as those representing Manchester United, Barnsley, Blackpool, Hemel Hempstead, Spurs and Chelsea are also consistently pretty good, but are just lacking that slice of good fortune to take them into the very highest spots of all, but it could still come to any of them …
Things are just as close at the bottom end too, where just a couple of good weekends and a team can change a number of places. There are 14 forums separated by only 6 points on the table (76 to 82 points). That means no-one, not even at present poor Nottm Forest The A Block are out of contention for a reasonable finishing position come May!
The most fluctuating teams throughout the season appear to be Peterborough’s The Posh Forum, Football Lounge (formerly Talk of the Terrace) and Newcastle’s Vital Football, but I’m not sure why that is!
No great hopes for the organizing forums – both Reading’s Royals Rendezvous and Sunderland’s Black Cat Chat have been floundering for most of the season, suppose it must be people like myself (at least I’m just inside top 600 now!) who throw a spanner in the works!
