 I must admit, I laughed when he suggested Collins as better than Williams.

Lets face it, all you lot think he's The best in the world & we will disagree. We think Hudson is tidy & you lot will disagree...

All in the good nature of football rivalry. :laughing6:

I here Hudson is decent and i'll reserve judgement on him until he's played 20 games in the league. As for Collins,well.......

by you maybe, not by anyone else. hes a rock and rarely makes a misplaced pass let alone a goal conceding error. I can probably think of 3 or 4 in his career with us. that's amazing.

HE had highest pass completion stats for a center back in the league and had most blocks and most interceptions, closely followed by Kompany.

I've heard some pointless stats in my time and the game is full of them, but pass completion for a centre back is right up there! :laughing6: . Williams to Chico, Williams to rat boy, can't really fail can he :laughing6:

As for most blocks an interceptions, I would have thought he had a lot more opportunity than kompany and many other top players in his position.

Lies, damn lies and football stats

He's massively overrated and that's the last post I will be making in this thread

Re: Ashley Williams...

Sat Jul 20, 2013 10:44 am

Absolutely is. He is one of the best defenders in the one of the best leagues in the world.

Champions league clubs are trying to sign him for a fee they rarely pay out for defenders. world class and a major reason we have gone from League 1 to European football in a very short space of time.

What's bids have you had from CL clubs then?

It's taken them a while considering he's 28 :laughing6:

Keep them coming RM, you're on top form today

Arsenal bid £8.3 million.

Re: Ashley Williams...

Champions League "clubs" - so who else?

Surely if he's world class, he'd be worth a bid more than 8 mil. :laughing6:

Napoli also bid £8 million.

Evidence on Napoli bid? first I've heard that.

If he was worth it, Arsenal would have bid more...

 Top 5.. Okay.

The issue I brought up was that he shouldn't be captain of WALES, not Swansea.

Name me 5 better centre halves then.

Michael Dawson
Jan Vertonghen
Nemanja Vidic
Vincent Kompany
John Terry

Well there's five ...

Johnny Evans
Gary Cahill
Phil Jagielka
Matija Nastasić
Fabricio Coloccini

There's another five ...

Arsenal don't spend big money, especially not on center backs at 28 years of age.

Napoli bid was reported on planetswans by an insider. The links of them chasing him are a quick google search away though and are reported to come back with an improved offer along with Everton and Arsenal. We wont accept less than £10 million.

Evidence? Its not a court of law. Im telling you that Arsenal (Champions League club) had a £8.3m bid rejected which is documented. I believe the guy on planetswans that Napoli did too, you don't, that's fine. However their intent to sign him has been documented for a while, google it.

Well, you could make up all sorts of nonsense that someone has bid on someone, without having any evidence on it makes it rather weak.

Barcalona have been tracking Gestede by the way, they've put a bid in.

You're telling me that? Funny that.. Huw is quoted as telling everyone different... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... paign=1490

Searching google? No thanks.. Not everyone is obsessed with their rivals as you are.

He's struggling on this one chuckles. Apparently arsenal don't spend big, especially on 28 yo centre halves, which may well be true. But then surely that means they won't be expecting world class for their money? More like back up to vermaelen who isn't even first choice for arsenal.

I think hes a good example of how players can step up from the Championship and perform, hopefully a few of our lads can do the same
