Lets see what he's done (in my view) since he took an active role in running the club.....
Saved us from being wound up and cancelled out the then danger of administration - check
Gave MM a budget to sort out a very small playing squad - check
Personally paid for the special lighting to improve pitch condition (much needed at the time) - check
Got rid of Cardiff Blues - check
Financed a succesful promotion push - check
Supplied a very decent transfer budget for this transfer window - check
and looking to the near future:
Langston debt about to get sorted
New training ground, plans well underway
Hopefully after the Hamamm is sorted the debt to equity swap will go ahead as promised.
Now lets be honest who the f**k has done so much for Cardiff City football club in living memory????
All this guy wants is a little respect from the fans for all he has done, and all he seems to get (on this board at least) is pelters!
UNBERFUCKINGLEAVABLE!
His decision to rebrand the club will never be popular, but the positives far outweigh the negatives
Onwards and upwards!
(No doubt ive got a few things wrong in this post, im not a anarak when it comes to the problems and successes of the club, im just a normal fan, feel free to add more or correct me where im wrong)

Just because they belong to a group, doesn't mean that it is the views of the group.
Eg. I'm an CCFC ST holder, that doesn't mean my views are the ones of CCFC.

That's your opinion, but for me the colour and badge of every football club defines their identity. I will always be blue and I will always be a Bluebird. That's how I feel and nothing will ever change that.

However, I think it is quite nonsensical to claim the vast majority of fans are so disaffected by the rebrand that they are no longer feel part of the club. If it was that bad then there wouldn't have been firstly such a clamour for tickets for the Charlton game (plus season tickets for this year) and secondly such celebrations on the pitch afterwards.

Quite simply a case of "Support the team, not the regime."

An excellent post Gavin but sadly although most everything you say is correct when you read through the replies on this thread any reasonable person would, in my opinion, understand why VT says " I'm disappointed that after 51 years of not being in the top flight that there are still fans who think we haven't done a good job"
From the moment VT & TG invested in the club we have started on a path of professional management with one aim and that is to put the club on a solid financial footing for the longterm. As VT says in that interview he has ploughed an absolute fortune into the club, probably more than any other previous owner in the 48 years I have been watching the City.
But with VT it goes beyond just ploughing money in because I believe from day 1 he has had a vision for the club and one by one the promises he made are being delivered. Again something no other owner in my experience has done.
At the outset of the rebrand he said that he was looking for "New Investors" and that he felt that the search would have to be "International" as there were no obvious candidates locally. In the BBC interview he again mentions "New" Malaysian investors, maybe not just now but he believes when the time is right it is possible.
Having kept the club afloat, funded last season promotion campaign, having plans approved from the new training ground, plans to provide an additional 5,000 seats for season 2014/15, providing MM with a realtisic transfer budget this summer, on the verge of settling the Langstone Issue and of course his promise to convert his loans to equity in the club.
What more must this man do to get some recognition for his achievements change the home colours back to blue.![]()
In my opinion that's classic parochialism in that the world withing the Cardiff City parish will only be OK if the team play in blue. The problem with that outlook is that we are now playing in a league which is a worldwide brand and we need to have a broader outlook than narrow parochial views of the blue Cardiff City.
There is a big wide world out there gentleman and we are lucky enough to have a massively successful businessman in charge at Cardiff City Football Club. Although I identify our club with the name Cardiff City Football Club, the nicknames Bluebirds and the city and of course the colour blue I can look beyond the one aspect which has been changed because of the massive steps forward that have been achieved by having VT involved.
