I get back from Holiday late on the Friday night so I will be watching in a pub in Cardiff on the Saturday afternoon somewhere.
Cant be fucked with a voucher exchange either and have been there 3 times r so have decided to spend my money on watching Cleverley fight live for the first time live at the motorpoint Saturday night. :ayatollah:

I am genuinely surprised that we have not sold more tickets than we currently have, at a recent travel group meeting I stated that I believed we would sell our allocation for the first game regardless of the opposition.

Judging by sales so far it seems I am very wrong.

At this moment we have not sold 50% of our allocation.

Cardiff City are in the PL/top flight for the first time in 51 years.

Home crowds highest for over 40 years.

On Friday West Ham will want to know how many of our allocation we require. After the first 1,500 West Ham will sell us blocks of 500 at a time, which the club must purchase.

Last season we didn't sell out our allocation at games like Burnley, Hull, Boro, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackburn, Millwall, Charlton and Palace etc and at many of these games we were top of the league and ended up as our best season for 51 years.

So what are the reasons and is it worrying ??

Is it Premier League prices and are people saving for the top 6 teams ?

Is it a carryover from last season and the rebrand?

Is it the opposition?

Are we not as big a club as we think we are ?

First game sales look poor when in previous seasons we have always taken excellent support to our first away game regardless of the division?

Is it purely our fan base has changed and don't travel as much?

Can anyone think of a reason why our sales are slow and low ?

Carl, as an exile I go to many away games, the ticket exchange is a pain for me as i have to go double the distance to get to West Ham. Its a right pain add that to the price of the ticket and i am well on my way to £100 for this game, not sustainable for me, and many like me

there's a month to go, people are on holidays or enjoying the sun we actually got, and the norm is people decide to go closer to the date! if the game was say next week then it would be sold out, the fact its ages away is people dont feel the need to book it now!

I think there's a lot of people without much disposable income and people are using it for the kids holidays this month and waiting next month's pay to buy their ticket.

Not the best game in the League by a long way, and the fact that all games can be seen in local pubs, mean that we will not go way in big numbers for the smaller teams that we have recently visited.

Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and the likes of Everton will be a bit different, although the fact that you can see these games in local pubs may even effect these games?

And of course the costs are a big factor.

Would love to to this one as it's my twin boy's 18th birthday & we planned to make a weekend in London of it but this voucher bollocks has made us change our minds, can't be arsed with all the hassle so they're going for a 3 nighter in Butlins at virtually the same cost as a day stuck on a coach.

If I have bought tickets earlier in the week for this, and now wanted to get another ticket for a family member who is now eligible - would we be able to get seats together? Is the voucher exchange on the day where you are given seat numbers?

Agree that money is major factor but we have less fixtures this year so less opportunities to go away? Bet plenty of people that winge about the pricing though blow the cost of a monthly away day on total shite every month. A lad in work today said he hasn't got a pot to piss in till payday and is on tesco value beans and bread (no butter) till next week yet he still smokes a pack of 20 Lambert and Butlers daily which must cost like £35-40 a week!! It's all about priorities and if some people's order of priority is fags or a £30 take away every Friday then that's their choice. My priority lies with watching as many games as possible . I do understand though that times are tough and some people are not fortunate to make any further sacrifices than they already do :ayatollah:

West Ham in days of old was a treat, good football, stars like Moore, Peters & Hurst... now not worth more that £20 a ticket.

Ignore him mate, he always writes a post and then gets everyone to bite at it, he's an incredibly negative poster. He knows nothing about your personal life etc, I don't blame you for not going to West Ham, you'll be knackered from your holidays and not bad seeing Clev fight. Last season i bought a season ticket cheap off a friend and the season before that went down the city with my brother once a month.

This year i can afford a full season ticket on DD which i have got but its not allowing me to buy the ticket online.

It says 'Unfortunately, this time you don't have the correct privileges on your account to purchase tickets for this match. Why not return to ticket home and try another match?'

Does anyone know why this is? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I have no idea what this "been before" mentality is about, are you train spotters or Cardiff city fans?

I'm sure you will sell out, my point is that the demand for tickets seems a lot higher when we were in our first year. No tickets EVER got to general sale and all gone within 72hours of release.

Out of interest was your first away game at upton park a ticket exchange or bubble. Why should fans go nearly 40 miles out of their way to a service station on the m1 to pick a match ticket up.
The club and supporters have bent over backwards these last few seasons and arrests are pretty much non existant so why should we suffer these inconveniences.

Are you really asking me why should they?

To support Cardiff City id have thought. On our first game we had 50 people flying in from Sydney, a 48 hour round trip and $3000 flights.... I somehow cant really sympathise with having to go 50 mins out of your way to pick up a ticket

stop the excuses and support the team ffs

So you didn't suffer those restrictions then which was the question I was asking. Nobody said anything about not supporting the team but this club has supporters who will out of principle not travel to bubble or voucher games.
My point is I think the restrictions are needless

Do you know how pathetic that sounds?

You have a reputation as trouble makers, it will take a long time to leave and you will have to earn that trust at the top level, as of yet you haven't had the chance to. People walk over broken glass to watch their team play, it sounds ridiculous to hear e excuses being rolled out here. Some citing the fact the tickets are, in their opinion, £7 too expensive .

Last swans match I saw it was Wigan away and I paid $3100 return with Quantas, £350 accomadation and about £650 spending money. And I wasn't alone, there was about 30 of us. We had trouble to buy tickets as they were gone within 48 hours.

So having to travel 40 miles, pay an extra £7, have a police escort... Whatever, I'm afraid it doesn't wash, you should be chomping at the bit.

Not that old chestnut?

From a mod aswell. Listen, it's all fact and documented on our website at the time. The fact you are citing such things as £7 too much is laughable. We packed Chelsea out within 24 hours at £55 a pop.

Of course it matters. I it takes weeks to sell your allocation then it suggests there isn't much interest past the amount you have been given. If it sells out in a day or two with people unable to get tickets suggests the demand is much greater.
