Forget your culture and identity lickle welshmen we're moving football on :(

The more they talk the worse it looks for them and the Malaysian apologists on here

What part of our 'culture' has been changed? We're still called Cardiff City and the Bluebirds so out identity remains in tact. The thing that has changed is our wrapping (shirt colour). The badge has been changed a few times over the years. Does it really bother people so much that we play in a different colour shirt? The way it was done was underhand, but now it has been done surely its time to get behind Cardiff City. Regarding re-brands etc, ces't la vie.

What part of our 'culture' has been changed? Read what Peter Lim has said, He seems to know more about what has changed than you.

Does it really bother people so much that we play in a different colour shirt? football culture and identity are wrapped up in colours it's tribal and property of 'ours' It is NOT anyone elses, so ofcoarse people are bothered by a change from outside bodies, are you new to football or something?

You really believe what your typing. Oh dear.

What else would you expect from THAT club apart from constant disregard and contempt for the fans.

I say THAT club as that is what it is to me now, it's not my club it's unrecognisable. Apart from the Jack games I couldn't care less what happens next season, I am indifferent to it.

As far as I am concerned Cardiff City FC died a long time ago, Tan has killed it. The day he travels back to Malaysia permanently and takes all his ass kissing cronies with him the better. I shall be holding a party, I've nothing but hatred towards the man, pure hatred.

This is what annoys me about the re-brand ,this should be 1 of the best times for this club for everyone , instead he has split the fans and fans arguing amongst themselves , I cannot stand the red but I couldn't bring myself to stop going , it's a shame he has put some fans in this position that they no longer attend. If as he says he is calling us customers and treating as a business then he should listen to his " customers" they want blue not red :!:

Could someone please confirm the Malaysians have said this?

“Fans feel it’s their club and that it’s a community. It’s very hard for them to detach themselves. Clubs used to be run like communities.

Is this really a quote from someone at CCFC?

I cannot believe this?

I have sat on the fence over all this re-brand stuff going on in our great great club - the club which means I am proud that 3 generations of my family are blooobirds and proud of my city born and bred in Llanrumney.

Myself and a lot of others on here have endured the high's and low's of the last 40 odd years but always called the club, the fans, the atmosphere and the togetherness the best thing about the day. Of course we all love winning and success, as do I.

I also realize that we are in this era of greed and commercialism - and we have to do this to survive as a club.

If this quote is correct it just goes to show that the ones with control don't give a shit about culture, tradition or loyal fan's.

We are blooobirds, we are Cardiff, we are passion, we are like a community .

What the f--k will we be left with?

I want success, I want to be playing top clubs, I will always be proud of my city and great people of Cardiff.

Why the F--k should we "detach ourselves".

Someone once wrote on here that they would rather see us playing in division 3/4 than to sell our souls / community spirit.

I'm so glad I'm 50 odd years of age and seen some great, great and bad, bad times down the CITY.But GREAT they were.

Simon and sadly divided our fans worse than I have ever seen in all the years I've followed Cardiff.
These should be the greatest times we've ever witnessed, yet because our identity has been taken away, we are not able to enjoy these times like we would off.
I wish we were just talking about what is happening on the pitch next season.

Hit the nail on the head there.

I totally agree with you. This should be the best times for me and my son and every bloooobird.

Son is only 19, so the re-brand thing bothers him less than it does me.

Me, I just cant help feeling BLUE !!!!

But in Malky we trust :sad7: :notworthy: :malky: :old:

Yes it does. Identified by our name remaining the same, our nickname ditto. How do you identify yourself? By your name or nickname or by the colour of your shirt that particular day??

I define the identity by these:

name: Cardiff City (intact)
colours: blue, white (gone)
crest: ours replaced by a horrendous beermat (therefore gone)

you could throw the nickname in there too, but as the badge has a dragon as the feature and our prime colours were changed to red, it simply isnt Cardiff City - the Bluebirds anymore...

to me our identity has been taken away, therefore I cannot support the current system with my money...well, I am just a customer, according to Tan and Lim... Feck'em!!!
