You're perfectly right to ask these questions. All I will say is that from what I can gather & ill be able to inform you a lot more soon) is that every penny raised will go towards promotion of blue. This could take many different variations, but the one I DO really like the sound of it the blue scarf initiative. Everyone receives a free blue scarf upon entry to stadium.

This will take a lot of money though. I can safely say that nobody in BU will be profiting from it.

BU will profit by seeing lots of blue inside the stadium :)

Why shouldn't they be allowed to ask these questions?

Silence is deafening.

Silence is because I was at the BU committee meeting, actually.

No need to roll your eyes sunshine. You can answer the question now your back from the meeting.

No need for the cheek, thanks for the apology.

Where did I say that? I'm not a spokesperson for BU, if you have any questions, it's best to get in touch with them directly. I don't know everything about them, so don't want to give a misleading/incorrect answer.

A complete guess, but surely they cannot trademark a bluebird? The badge, yes - but not just an image of a bluebird?

It's been used on other 3rd party clothing - such as Karl Payne's work, so can't be too much of a problem.

I thought Karl used that bluebird on his polo shirt and the club said he couldn't use it (for profit) because of trade mark. So he used the plainer (and I think white) version we see now. Steve Borley made some comment on twitter about the FC Bluebirds of Cardiff or whatever's badge also.

I might be dead wrong on this of course. But I've got no real horse in this race. I hate the rebrand, but I don't like the holier than thou attitude of (some) BU members. But I definitely wouldn't want to see any good work done by them go up in smoke in some sort of lawsuit.

It's a very good point. I'd hate to see that too. My be one to run by the t shirt makers.

:laughing6: :laughing6: so basically if anyone questions BU they are trying to disrupt them and aren't true fans way to play the victim card

Re: BLUEBIRDS UNITE Merchandise

:sleepy2: just my opinion. If you want blue back, get along and support BU. if you have any queries/questions, aim them at the committee. If you have any advice/suggestions do so too.

If my "disruption" comment was offensive, I apologise. It wasn't my intention, but I'm tired of people who claim to want blue back, yet pick holes and criticise every little bit of work that BU have done so far. :ayatollah:

So again as I say your opinion is you can only want blue back if your a BU supporter. :laughing6: you just like to make yourself feel superior to the rest of us cause we haven't gone along. As I said I'm supporting BU but IMO it needs to cut out all other fans selling their souls as its not going to sway more people to their support.

Where have I said that? Please don't put words in my mouth.

In my opinion, it's the best option for a return to blue right now. Thats just MY personal opinion.

Why not suggest that to the group organiser? It's a topic I have to agree with you on. I'd prefer just the BU t shirts too.

In a perfect world Cardiff City would play in Blue with the Bluebird badge, but guess what it isn't perfect.

I thought BU was to be a protest group but now it's seems they are a unregistered charity selling goods for financial gain.

I don't support them, just like the majority of Cardiff City fans are we all to be called not true fans?

No ones gets paid, it is all for the cause :ayatollah:
I know you well and I honestly believe you should come to their next ' open meeting on Thursday 25th July at 7pm ' and make your mind up then. Your staunch Blue and thats what Bluebirds Unite are :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I back this cause but the "I Don't Have to Sell My Soul" t-shirts are a bit ironic if they are worn by someone who has paid for their season ticket this season.

Anyway, that's just my opinion and on the whole I do like what Bluebirds Unite are doing so all the best to them! :ayatollah:

They are not a charity. They are raising money to help the cause of being blue. ALL money will go on the cause and there is not any 'financial gain' so please take back your incorrect statement.

It's registered as a charity so they don't have to pay vat.
(So if this was wrong I take this back)

If they are making a profit from merchandise even if it for the "cause" they will get financial gain from selling.

And ALL financial "gain" will be spent on the BU cause, such as giving blue scarves out before a game.. So no ACTUAL GAIN, want to make that very clear, as you seem intent on making out that BU are gaining personally from this.

I'll go through this SLOWLY for you.

Cost of item £8
Item sold for £10
Profit / financial gain £2

whether they use this profit/financial gain for the good of their cause or not it is still a profit / financial gain.

Mybe go through it SLOWLY with yourself.

You are making out that people are profiting from it on here, because you don't like BU. if you want blue back, go along to the next meeting and open your eyes.

If you don't agree, and are happy with red, stop trying to run them down & accept that not everyone agrees with you. I'm not replying to you anymore, you're nonsense is boring me. :sleepy2:

As much as BU apologists stick up for them saying the opinion of one doesn't represent all, now I've seen 'I don't need to sell my soul' as an official t-shirt slogan of BU and an 'against modern football' banner in a photo of the main protagonists looking angry.

This will bring nothing but damage to the cause of CCFC and the cause of bringing back blue.
