If anyone did really think of Carl as the "Fans leader" then more fool them. It was a "tag" given to him by the Eggo I dont think Carl thinks of himself as THE fans leader. Ive seen Annis and Carl play on it but in a tongue in cheek way and in response to the haters from the other forum.

In all seriousness, how can Borley win?

If fans continue to chat negative shit and misinformation, that is unrelated to transfers, about the club then you cant blame Steve for setting the record straight.

If fans just didn't talk about these issues and stopped spreading misinformation then Steve would have no reason to step in and set the record straight. I dont see Steve on here looking for arguments, just correcting things and putting people straight when they're so obviously wrong.

I think Carl needs to stop pretending to be a fans leader, accept the club has moved on and is more close knit and just do his job properly and accept hes just a normal fan now and nothing special. None of us are, we're all equal. He can still write about the club in the paper and do his bits and enjoy discussion but this platform he has ain't doing him any favours with these 'updates' and so on.

Totally agree here. Borley was in a no-win situation. I'm glad he corrected it though & was totally right to, in my mind.
