The most dangerous thing about all this is the total ignorance and lack of understanding between race and religion and the fact that as self appointed 'defenders of the faith' half these clowns in th EDL have never been to a church, or a mosque for that matter. They understand f**k all about the origin of either religion, and are oblivious to the truth that both religions are so inter-related and that the Middle East is full of sects of both Christian and Muslim. These clowns do not understand that what you believe in your r own mind has nothing to do with the colour of your skin but they assume (and therefore target) anyone from the middle east/Indian subcontinent.

I wonder what their views on the IRA (catholic) would have been - as they are white Christians? The targeting of mosques and Islam assumes that a whole faith of people are responsible for attacks on a country so allowing the argument to be opened up to having beef with immigration and therefore racialising an issue that started out as a problem with a religion. Outside of the IRA and the Welsh Nationalists cottage burning in the 70's the only 'terrorist' attacks in the UK have come from homegrown British nationals.

The lack of intelligence in the EDL is what makes them dangerous because they present fantasy as fact and people who are too lazy to research the facts believe them and join in and it all gains momentum.

The police are more than happy to assert their dominance over the EDL but not so forthcoming when it comes to other extreme groups, not sure why this is but it is happening. Where did I say I couldn't see it?
