Not many fans on here have ever heard of any other formations other than 4-5-1 and 4-4-2.

To be fair 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 are virtually the same as in a four -3-3 the two wingers still come back to defend so it is pretty much still a 4-5-1

very similar, but nobody would suggest Arsenal play 4-5-1, or Barcelona playing that formation, they are 4-3-3 teams. What I want from us playing that is having the 3 people forward and the fullbacks filling the width. This is where a defensive midfielder will come in handy against any form of counter attacks.

If you had a 10 mill bid accepted then theres no way Saint would bid 12 mill.

Its obvious this thread is incorrect. as the odds suggested all along, they barely moved.

Re: " BID MADE AND ACCEPTED "

Steve Tucker agrees with Carl:
Cardiff City are in the driving seat to land £10m target Victor Wanyama, but the race is hotting up for the Celtic powerhouse.

The Bluebirds are still waiting to hear whether their record-busting offer for the 21-year-old will be accepted by the Parkhead side.

Cardiff have almost matched the offer Southampton made for the Kenyan international which was accepted by the Hoops, although Wanyama could then not agree personal terms with the Saints.

It is believed Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds are ready to push the boat out on their first summer signing and are closer to meeting Wanyama’s wage demands.

But the on-going transfer saga has alerted others to the midfielder’s availability with Liverpool and Newcastle reportedly monitoring the player’s situation.

Southampton bid 12 mil 2 days ago, Wanyama didn't want to go there and now we've come in and bid 10 mil.

Re: " BID MADE AND ACCEPTED "

Sky are saying Southampton won't pay the agents fee which 1 million.... Hence why he won't sign for the saints

Re: " BID MADE AND ACCEPTED "

Tue Jun 25, 2013 6:45 am

The thing is he has said the Southampton terms are really unfavourable, and that he hopes Cardiff will put a bid in, Celtic will not get £12.5 (if that is the real price) so if he has told celtic that he will only go to Cardiff (after he had a word with Ledley) and our bid is the only one on the table, Celtic are not going to want an unhappy player, so they may well accept our bid, fingers crossed

Yes we know. that much is clear.

But its pretty obvious that if Southampton went in with 12 mil and it was accepted then celtic wouldn't be accepting 10 mil a matter of days later.

What is clear is you have bid under what they want for him but carl made up that it was accepted as its pretty obvious that it would never be accepted and hasn't been accepted.

How does he agree with Carl? Tucker says Cardiff are still waiting to see if the bid has been accepted yet carl says it has (even though its 2 mill less than what they are being offered by Saints  )

Someone better tell the bookies then, as they seem pretty certain hes going to Southampton....

Southampton 1/2 (down from 11/10)
Cardiff 6/1 (drifted from 9/2)
Arsenal 7/1

Using bookies as a reference is daft.

We were odds on to sign Shay Given once last year when we didnt even enquire about him .

Bookies just react to what money is placed where.

but someone will always know something which means money will be placed on the correct info.

If Cardiff had any real chance of signing him at the stage negotiations are at now, there is no way on earth you would be 6/1 as the weight of money going on Cardiff would drive the price down... yet its going up and up.

You seem to be forgetting this happened quite late yesterday evening. Markets close......with all these newspaper stories I expect the odds to shorten considerably today when the markets re-open.

Just remember, bellamy was odds on to go to Tottenham, malky to Everton, given to us......people react to stories.

So if the markets open in 50 mins and you are still 6/1, I expect considering you are in the driving seat, you will be staking a very large amount of money on it. after all you should be odds on right?

know how to do a screenshot? ;)

I dont bet on transfers as they change so quickly.

Im not saying we are going to sign him or not, im just saying your whole basis for us not signing him is the fact we aren't favourites with the bookies. Which is stupid.

im not saying you aren't signing him, you may well do. but you clearly aren't front runners or even highly doubtful you have had a bid accepted otherwise the weight of money going on you would mean your odds would shorten not lengthen..

you may get him in the future if talks continue to stall and you up your bid... but at THIS moment in time its clear you are not really in the frame.

Amazing I have no interest whatsoever in Swansea's transfer targets and certainly wouldn't go on one of their sites to discuss them.

So it amazes me you know so much (& seem to care) about our possible transfers?

Bit creepy TBH.

I don't know anything regarding your transfers, im trying to make sense of whats being fed as currently its not making much sense.

You are our local rivals, sing songs about coming for us, tell us you are going to eclipse everything we have achieved etc etc im taking a very keen interest, trust me. nobody else sings songs and tells us they are going to be better than us as far as im aware. if they do let me know and ill take an interest in them too :ayatollah:
