If you look at the obvious things, we had our key striker injured all year. We had a 35 year old target man who ent an in and out goal scorer along with a winger who done well up front but no the greatest finsiher in front of goal.

We also had Mason in and out off the bench pinching a few.

You think we should rely on injury prone Fraizer Campbell and Nicky Maynard? Joe Mason and Rudy Gestede aren't ready for Premier League football yet. Vellikonja will obviously won't get a look in so we need serious investment upfront.

Rudy not ready yet? Hes 25 next season?

Not I was on about how we didn't get a striker in double figures and highlighted the reasons.

Certain players improve at different ages. Mark Hudson had his best season for us since joining us.

Lets give Rudy an 8 year Alan Pardew style contract, perhaps at 32 he might be ready

Because it's not been reported in The Mirror they can't have been in contact?

I dont care really. People crying over Gomis need to grow up. Id rather Kalou at the club. Been there and done it to be fair. Gomis is a risk.

Took a phone call yesterday and they were under the same impressions as me(Gomis is going to Swansea) although where mine was a gut feeling, his was through a more informative source. And a lot of people out west Feel Gomis will be wearing the white next season.
That being said though,he also said that the people who are saying these things also said the same about another player who was joining them(He is still at his parent club though).
Things can change rather quickly in this business. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Malky Is My God wrote:I dont care really. People crying over Gomis need to grow up. Id rather Kalou at the club. Been there and done it to be fair. Gomis is a risk.

Why, in the name of god, would you rather Kalou?

He had one season at Chelsea where he managed 10 goals in the league. & from what I saw of him he hates hard work.

As for this season Gomis has more goals in the same league & is better suited to what we need I terms of a target man.
He may be more expensive, but Kalous wages will be bigger.

Gomis would be, on paper, a very good signing!
