Kenwright has been criticised for putting the price too high for what Everton are. Liverpool, well H&G did the same hence the whole problem with Barclays and Peter Lim ending interest in purchasing them.
Spurs on the other hand will have a higher premium because they're London based. I also cant see Daniel Levy wanting to sell up with them in the possession of such a valuable asset such as Bale and close to getting in the CL.
Tan is playing it smart. Put us on the stock exchange and let the market control the share prices and determine the right value for what its worth. If he just slapped a ball park £150m on us then there is no chance of us getting investment.
What Tan is basically doing by putting us on the SE is pitching to dragons den - he puts us on there and if they, the dragons, the investors think we are worth it for financial gain they will do so. But, to make them invest or increase the chances of investment we must appeal to them, hence the rebrand to appeal to the Asian market.

Do we really think that Malaysian's are naive enough to follow a team, purely because they wear red.
This is part of my question, Barry, as few of us know the strength of 'superstition' over there. I am told (but I don't know for a fact) that both RED and the No.8 are indeed viewed as 'lucky' and influences a lot more in parts of the Far East than it would over here![]()

I have lived in SE Asia for over 20 years and colour means far more here than in the West.
The dominant so called lucky colour is red Singapore,Vietnam,South Korea all have red as the main lucky colour
The problem for Tan is that in China which I believe is his main target area for business the two lucky colours are red and yellow/gold but the colour of death is blue which should only be worn at times of mourning and funerals.
That is why I think he is unable to even compromise.

More media outlets in China are getting involved with European football and seeing how emerging the country is becoming with its communist traditions finally going down the capitalist route, and a country that has more english speaking people than the USA, then if the theories are true about Tan wanting to promote us to this new Chinese football audience(and probable investors)then almost every club in the premier league will start on a blank canvas

China has to be the ultimate target for VT. When we talk about the 'red' kit we often go off on the 'lucky' tangent which to me is a complete (pardon the pun) red herring.
We are red because it sits nicely with the dragon and the dragon sits well with the Chinese. It is a simple but almost brilliant marketing equation and if we are ever to crack that market, then that along with some success will be the way we will do it.

I don't know about the' lucky red' bit not being relevant. Ever been to a casino after the Chinese Restaurants close(or a bookies before they open)?

I have to admit I have never been to a casino after Chinese Restaurants have closed, but I accept they like the colour red and probably think of it as 'lucky'
What I was trying to say is we spend too much time talking about red being 'lucky' and miss the fact that our Dragon (the Welsh one) is red and sits nicely with a red kit.
It is obvious to me that if you are trying to sell a product in a new market then you make it as attractive as possible. IMO we have a brilliant aesthetic look for the Far East market and now all we need is a bit of success to crack it wide open.

I accept that is true and as VT is of Chinese extraction he probably does consider the colour red as lucky.
But that sought of throws up another question in way did he get involved with a club that plays in blue? I think that brings us back to the fact we are the capital of Wales and the Welsh symbol is the Red Dragon. I suppose he thought that we could seamlessly change from Blue to Red as Red is the colour of Wales.
As it happens his 'luck' was in as we were in such dire financial straights that we accepted his proposal for the most part with open arms.
May be there is something in Red being lucky
