I genuinely cannot believe that Tan would have taken such a huge step unless he believes what he is doing is best for the business. He won't have done it 'just to piss us off' as that would have no value at all

I may be wrong but it is why I am prepared to give him time to prove/disprove :ayatollah:

I believe the rebrand was just down to selfish reasons and personal preference of his.

Unless he genuinely believes that the rebrand will make the club more attractive to the Far East market in a way which will make some sort of impact on the club. But that will never happen anyway unless we are successful on the pitch, and even if we were, it would have nothing to do with the rebrand! Of course you can include the fact that he invested millions in exchange, but we could've achieved everything we have achieved without the changes. This is why I think it's stupid.

Jon, I appreciate your points and I suppose we'll never really know whether we WOULD or WOULD NOT have been successful without the changes, so that is a matter of personal opinion ;) :)

I'll still think that the very fact that he invested the money into the club at the time he did gives him a certain 'blank canvas' to work with and (for now at least) we need to go along with his 'vision' until we are (a) established enough in the Premier League to attract serious new investors, and/or (a) he 'plan' fails which would be a disaster of biblical proportions for Cardiff as a club and as a city :(

I'm sure none of us wants the latter and the former WILL come eventually, as 'owners' have done before ;) :ayatollah:

Let us know when you become a billionaire.

Why's that? I just answered a question.

You called the man 'stupid'. No stupid business becomes a billionaire. You obviously know better so let us know...!

The rebrand has done nothing business related other than cause a lot of controversy and attention from fans and the media.

The "other than" bit you mention though is pretty big ain't it.

Stupid in what way running a business?? If you think Tan is stupid in that way then there's no hope for you

I've seen this attitude before, Do you think that because a man is rich he is incapable of extreme stupidity? :D

Also in an undemocratic country like Malaysia wealth is accrued over a number of ways and it's not always the cream rising to the top.

Malaysia is a democratic country and they have just had their 13th general election (5 May) since gaining independence from Britain. As it happens VT's mate Prime Minister Najib Razak was returned to power, all be it with the worst showing in 50 years.

This was despite a Social Programme which included $2.6 billion worth of hand outs to the poor and extensive unity campaigns which included the 1Malaysia Cardiff City project.

However, the return of Najib Razak could be very good news for VT. The ethnic Chinese have deserted the ruling UMNO party in droves and voted for opposition parties. UMNO have to be seen as doing something for the 25% Chinese population with better opportunities in business, education and housing.

One of the first things that could be done is returning VT's betting licence and allowing the Chinese community the freedom to gamble.

Well Tony, there is democracy then theres DEMOCRACY :D
I seen pro-reds got to some extreme lengths to justify Tans act, but heralding malaysia as a Democracy as we'd know it. well........Corru[pt as f**k is the term i'd use. but here are others views

Passed in 1984, the Printing Presses and Publications Act, which makes it a crime to publish anything without a government license that must be renewed every year by the Home Minister, has been used to silence government critics and to ban various publications for a variety of reasons. As with the Sedition Act, the practical effect of the Printing Presses and Publications Act has been to severely restrict freedom of speech in Malaysia

The country is especially well known for arresting persons without warrants and detaining them indefinitely without trial, and for placing strict limitations on freedom of speech, press, assembly, and association in the name of social order. Among the other problems cited in a US State Department report in 2011 are the abuse and even death of persons held by police; punishment by caning; trafficking in persons; systematic official prejudice in favour of ethnic Malays; forced labour by migrant workers and others; and child labour on plantations.[3]

Human rights groups and foreign governments are generally critical of the Malaysian government and the Royal Malaysian Police. Preventive detention laws such as the Internal Security Act and the Emergency (Public Order and Prevention of Crime) Ordinance 1969 allow for detention without trial or charge and as such are a source of concern for human rights organisations like SUARAM.[1]

Yes but to force it upon our club is highly disrespectful, so why should I respect him?
