The resident bellends get so defensive and precious don't they

Laudrup knows he's dealing with a small club who somehow won the lottery. As soon as a proper club make an approach who won't be scared of offering him a real budget, then he'll be gone faster than you can say MartinezSousaRodgers

The bubble will burst soon enough

We were badly run yes but not by anyone who is there now , also given your financial dealings over the last decade don't you feel rather hypocritical , but this has been done to death on both sides so no point going over it yet again

Regarding the funds its all mind games with the selling clubs, the Swans Board and Laudrup keep their cards close, they never let on how much money they have to spend as it may drive the price up on players.
We have made a profit last season and have the increased income from the Prem to look forward to, I think laudrup will be given an adequate budget.

Its not a ridiculous statement though is it? You did win the lottery, same as Blackpool, West ham and crystal palace have all done the same, the play offs IS A LOTTERY with a huge prize at the end.

It could just as easily of been reading not you, or us in place of Blackpool etc..

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Tue May 28, 2013 6:20 pm

In fairness, had the playoff 'lottery' not existed, they would have still gone up as they finished 3rd.

The Jacks are extremely well run now, but they weren't before, so I do hate it when the press go on & on about what a well run club they are, without documenting what they had to do to get where they are today.

He's happy here and is likely to stay next season, Sky Sports and their 'sources' aren't exactly the most reliable and I'd be very surprised if there was a conditional clause that meant he has to be given £14 million to spend. There's no sort of issues between Laudrup and the board, Laudrup understand how good are board is and has a very good relationship with them. We will be given money to spend, that's a given and it just seems as if Sky are covering all basis on the story, so that the story doesn't lose all credibility when he's inevitably given in excess of £14 million to spend next season.

I like how you debate whether our transfer policy is right or wrong though, no debt, three of the signings of the season last season whilst your approach to spending has got you in tens of millions of pounds of every growing debt.

Your last few manager's have said they were happy before f*cking off to bigger clubs

Well anyone can win the playoffs, but the winners of the play off win it on merit and not on luck, describing it as a lottery implies it is a matter of luck when it's not.

Some of the intelligence from some of these posters is beyond stupid, openly stating that something is a lottery, but then not believing it to be based on luck. Jesus Christ.

Even if there was no playoffs, Jacks finished 3rd and would have gone up anyway. I'm not a jack, but some here are making remarks that are making CCFC look bitter and jealous.

If there were no play offs though we would have gone up as third placed team. IF we had scraped in at 6th on the final day then you might have a point, but as it go's, you are talking shit.

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Laudrup wants big funds.. be interesting as Swansea don't go down that route but to progress to a higher level they might have too.

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Tue May 28, 2013 10:12 pm

They are referred to as a lottery, meaning that the 4 teams that go into them have an equal chance of winning

I never said you were lucky to win,but reading had 19 shots 11 on target compared to your 6 shots 4 on target that also includes 2 penalties and you played the second half against 10 men.

I'd call it a smash and grab.

Like I said earlier reading could of gone up just as easily as you did, hence the use of the term lottery as we never really know..

Re: Laudrup: Sky Sports Reporting...

Better to expect the worst and not get too far ahead of ourselves, doing the opposite can be a disaster - look at QPR for example.

The evening post is a tatty rag that hardly any swans fan buys these days. Gareth Vincent is worse than your Steve Tucker!

As for the quote "Laudrup and Jenkins have not met since the last game" - ML is on hols as are the squad due to an early pre-season with the euro qualifiers, pre-season training/tour on the horizon. Laudrup knows how we operate and has stated many times how he understands that. He knew this from day one and if he wanted mega bucks like a top 6 club to buy players, he would never have taken on the job. We'll spend just over 20 million if our targets are successful this summer.
